Episode Five, Part 4:
S i s t e r

Coming like a hurricane, I take it in real slow.
The world is spinning like a weathervane, fragile and composed.
Though I am breaking down again, I am aching now to let you in.

It was dark outside as Basilisk crept around near the dried-up dams, but Kodiak refused to let that get in the way of finding Elara. He wasn't even prepared to go back to camp until he had her again, no matter how long that would take.

He knew his people were around, assisting him on his search, but he was worried that if she really was in a vision, she would be afraid of them in the same way she was when she attacked Wynn. The only way he could think of luring her out was by using his voice.

Whenever she was coming down from a vision, Kodiak or Ares had always been at her side, mumbling into her ear to calm her down. It was at least worth a shot.

"Ell, where are you!?" He called out, praying that she was close by. "Elara? Ell!?"

"I believe his name is 'Quill,'" A voice answered from behind Kodiak. A voice he knew all too well.

The Sovereign spun around, face to face with Rhea and Kane who had drawn the attention of everyone else alongside him.

Kane held Quill in a chokehold, one of his hands pressing the barrel of a gun against his head as the young boy shivered, violently afraid of his father.

Kodiak remained where he was, believing that they were capable of doing anything to them after what was happening to Quill.

"What do you-" he began to speak, but Rhea cut him off.

"Drop your weapons. All of you."

Bas, Fenn, Azha and Kodiak were the first to remove their weapons, chucking them in a pile on the ground without hesitation, not wanting to risk anything happening to Quill. Nova, Foster and Dreea, on the other hand, were hesitant. They didn't want to fall into a trap and risk everyone being unprotected against a sudden attack.

"Listen to her," Kane ordered, adjusting his hold on his son.

Dreea looked over to Kodiak, not having a choice, and leading the other to comply. Once all of Basilisk were unarmed, Rhea's people circled in, weapons at the ready as they ordered them to their knees.

With their hands now tied behind their backs, and all their guns and blades now in the possession of Targo, Kodiak began to plead with Rhea, only hoping that they wouldn't figure out what had happened to Elara.

"Okay, we've done what you asked," Kodiak said calmly, "now let Quill go."

"You're not the one calling the shots here, Sovereign," Rhea teased, smiling corruptly down at him. But from beside her, Kane loosened his hold on his son, forcing him down to his knees in line with the others.

"Apparently I'm not, either," she folded her arms, glaring down at the older man questioningly, spiteful that he would make her look incapable in front of everyone.

Kane rolled his eyes, tightening a rope around Quill's hands as he stood behind him.

"He's my son," he muttered to her, "you agreed that I would handle him."

"We all know what happened the last time you were left in charge of him. You let him get away," she turned to face Quill, having fun in her little game.
