Part 5 A Duck for a Frog
JADE’S POV
“What?!” Kate exclaimed
“Silence!” shouted the teacher, let his eyes hover over us for a moment and then brought then down to his book.
We were currently in detention.
“Come again.” Said Kate in a whisper this time.
I re-narrated the prank that Tiffany played on me. When I finished, Kate started laughing and out loud too!
“Kate!” I said
“Silence both of you!” shouted the angry teacher, frowning though his rimmed glasses and then continued reading his book.
“Sorry, sorry” said Kate to me. “Are you fine?”
“Yeah” I said with a sigh. The very reason I am stuck here in detention is Tiffany.
“Well, she’ll pay.” She said trying to cheer me
“What do you mean?” I asked
“Revenge! Duh.” Said she.
On hearing that a brilliant idea suddenly popped up in my mind!
Tiffany you better watch out!

Next day, when I came to school, I was really excited even though this wasn’t the first time that I was going to do something of this sort, but it was not very usual for me either.
“Hi!” Molly greeted us. “Why do you have a mischievous look on your face?”
I tried keeping a straight face but honestly, I was bouncing inside. In attempt to keep a straight face, I ended with a look of a donkey on my face. You know, the one with half-a-smile-thing?
“What are you planning to do?” Molly asked suspiciously.
“Nothing.” I replied innocently. Kate and I looked towards each other and smirked.
“Molly shrugged and went along with Lillian for her next class. Kate and I went the other way for our class.
“Oh! I forgot.” I said suddenly. “What was that in the ground yesterday?” I asked in a teasing tonee.
“What was what?” said Kate
“Don’t pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about.” Said I.
“It was nothing.” She mumbled looking away.
“It seemed more than ‘nothing’ to me” I said nudging her. “You and your Ashton seemed to be-”
She cut me off, “First of all he is not my Ashton. Second of all, there is nothing between us, ok?”
I was going to tease her further but then I heard someone call my name. I turned around to see Austin running towards us. I smiled unknowingly, on seeing his face.
“You dropped this-” he said . I looked down to his hand to see my ID.
I hadn’t realised that I had dropped it.
“Oh! Thanks.” I said trying to free one of my hands to take it.
God! Why do I have so many books in my hand?!
“Here, allow me.” He said and gently placed the ID around my neck. His hand brushed against my cheek.
I felt a huge wave of water rise in me and flow through my veins.
Why did he make me feel that way?
Then both of us just stood there in silence and stared. No words but no awkwardness either.
.
.
“Ahem ahem!” Kate coughed.
I felt that water in my veins suddenly dry up. I was back to my senses.
“See you guys later.” He said. I watched him walk away.
“Now what was that, huh?” Kate teased.
I just shook my head in response. I couldn’t help but blush.

After the class, we walked to the cafeteria.
Time to put our plan in action
I handed Kate a small packet with chilli powder. I nodded and she nodded back. I felt like an agent on a secret mission.
Tiffany entered the cafeteria with Victoria and Daphany, her two tails. They got in line for their food. Kate managed to get in right next to Tiffany.
When she was deciding whether or not to have dessert, Kate emptied the powder in her pasta.
In the mean time, I put peanut extract on the mouth of my water bottle. Michelle brought it for me, the peanut extract. I did not know that such a thing even existed.
Tiffany was allergic to peanuts.
Tiffany sat down and started eating absentmindedly.
In an instant she started shouting
“Water! Water!!”
Victoria and Daphany were lost. They seemed so pathetic and incapable of doing anything on their own.
“Don’t just sit there, do something!” she shouted at them.
They frantically searched for water.
I got up and handed that bottle t Tiffany.
“Here-” I said and smiled.
She snatched the bottle from my hand and started drinking the water like crazy. She finally stopped when she could not drink anymore. Her relieved face rapidly changed to a frown and then to horror. She looked at the bottle, touched her lips with the other hand and stared me wide eyed.
“What did you put in that?” She demanded.
By this time the whole cafeteria was looking at us.
“Nothing.” I replied shrugging my shoulders. I wasn’t lying; I did not put anything in the water.
Her lips started reddening and puffing. As her lips became fatter and fatter, she started resembling to a duck
I couldn’t control my laugh, but I wasn’t the only one. Everyone in the room started laughing. Even Victoria and Daphany were laughing.
Tiffany’s face became as red as her lips in anger and embarrassment. She hid her face and ran out of the cafeteria.
I smiled in satisfaction. She would think twice before troubling me now. Or not.
I shrugged. Anyway, I was happy and said to myself, “Mission accomplished!”
