Part 7 – the day I died, twice
Recap: The girls, Kate, Jade, Molly and Lillian were exiting the ladies room when they were confronted by Mason, who wanted to talk to Molly. Molly was still sobbing because of that little incident with Mason.
JADE’S POV
I was burning.
Hotter than a furnace.
Mason was at fault.
How could he be so rude and treat Molly this way!? She never does anything to provoke anyone to such things. She deserves better.
My subconscious mind must have taken over me because, if I was in my senses, then I am sure I wouldn’t have done what I did.
I punched Mason in the face and shouted at him, “No, you may not talk to her!”
Then I walked away with Molly and others, leaving Mason standing there. I was angrily walking down the hallway when Kate held my shoulders and shook me, bringing me back to my senses. It was then I realised what I had done. I almost turned around to run back and apologize to him. Almost.
Kate stopped me before I could.
“No” she said “You are not going to apologize. He deserved it. If you wouldn’t have done it, then I would have.”
I paused for a moment and then said, “That felt good”
“’Good’? That was great!” she said.
“Really?” I asked feebly
“Yeah.” Said Molly. She was smiling now.
I smiled back. If it made her smile, it was worth it.
*****
I had wood class next. Kate and others weren’t with me in this class so I went by myself. I sat down on an unoccupied worktable. We were probably going to be told of the various tools since there were only tools on our tables and no wood. I was sitting and doodling in my notebook. Yes I love to doodle. It’s fun so I do it.
Sue me for having fun.
My thoughts started to drift towards earlier this morning. My hand was a bit sore because of the punch.
But that jerk deserved it for treating Molly like that.
But I’m sure to get into trouble for this.
It doesn’t matter, you did it for your friend.
But....... I still do get into trouble.
That’s true.
Oh my god! What am I going to do?!
Don’t be a coward. Be strong, face it.
‘Be strong’?! I am going to be thrown into jail for this!
