Airport

The wheels rolled on the airport floors. The sound of them my trolley just zipping by each tile really soothed my ears.

I arrived at the airport earlier than the girls since I can't join them in their van. I took a cab by myself. Their management has started to get stricter with their security.

Minju messaged me half an hour ago that they were about to leave. The flight departure was an hour away but we're talking about more than 12 people here. Customs takes ages due to the long lines.

My foot started tapping as I waited by the check-in counters.

Soon, I got a call from Minju.

minju: Hello????

She sounds like she's in a hurry.

Hey. Where are you guys? :you

minju: Uhmm.. Where are we, unnie- We're at the.. Check-In 7.

I looked at the counters behind me.

Check-In 13

Jesus.

I'll meet you guys there. :you

minju: WAIT- NONO-

I dropped the call not realising Minju still had more things to say. She said that right as I shut the phone.

My clueless self hurriedly jogged towards Check-In 7, looking for the members. The counter number decreased every hall I passed.

Finally as I arrived to Check-In 7, I saw the pack of girls huddled by the counter. I grabbed my small luggage and jogged towards them. As I got closer, Nako who was at the back noticed me.

She looked surprised, almost worried.

"Hey!" I said, greeting the girls who were all faced away from me. They all turned around and all their faces turned from plain to anxious.

"W-what are you doing here?" Yujin who was next to Nako whispered to me.

Wait. Wasn't I invited?

"I've been waiting for almost an hour." I said, disregarding the question.

"And who do we have here?"

A male voice says from behind the crowd of girls. He walks his way in between the girls, moving aside each one.

The strange voice turned out to be one of their managers.

What is he doing here? I thought this was a member only trip?

"Sorry. No fans allowed." He says, nudging me away from Nako and Yunin.

"I-I'm not a fan." I said to the man who looked down on me.

I started to get nervous. I might get the girls into trouble if word gets out. My eyes moved around and looked at each of the girls, nervously looking away from the man.

"He's my brother!" Minju shouts from behind the group. All of the girls' faces turned towards Minju, and so did the manager.

"I didn't know you had a brother, Minju." The man says as he twists his body towards Minju, who looked nervous as she said those words.

"Y-Yeah." Eunbi says from the side, trying to cover up for Minju.

The girls looked anxiously as the lies started to rise.

"So he's the one you invited to the trip?" He asks.

All of the other girls nod in unison, trying to diffuse the altercation.

"Hmm.." The manager observed every girl trying to figure out what was wrong. "Well... Whatever. Here are your passports. You guys will be late." He says as he hands the stack of passports around to the girls.

He stares back at me. His gaze gave me chills as I tried to look calm and collected. I smiled awkwardly.

"You guys have fun, okay?" The man turns to a different persona, instantly becoming kind as he pats me on the shoulder.

"I'm leaving now, girls. Have a safe trip!" He says as he walks away, waving at us.

My knees almost gave out as he finally leaves our vicinity.

I can't take that. I won't be able to do that anymore. Please.

I sighed loudly as I looked at the girls. They all sighed with me. Minju was really quick with that one, thankfully.

Minju looks at me, her worried face soon turned to laughter. "I can't believe we just did that." She says. The girls started to laugh in relief from the situation.

"Please never do that again." Chaeyeon says as she looks at us in relief.

I'd never wish for that to happen.

"Let's all be thankful Minju brought her brother to the trip." Yena says jokingly. The girls laugh at the sudden joke. A slight shift from the tense moment a while ago.

Minju walked towards me through the crowd and gives me a hug. "Please don't end the calls quickly." She says to my ear.

"I won't. Never again."
