"Your turn."

"Fine...!" I swiftly jumped off the horse and landed elegantly on the ground beneath me. No, who was I kidding, I almost fell down the saddle and somehow my right boot was stuck inside the stirrup and I had to jump up and down on my left foot until I could pull my other boot out of it. Just like me.

I peeked embarrassed over at Adam but he just sat there patiently waiting. And yeah, our romantic little walk was over and my ass was hurting again from hours and hours in the saddle. Riding as far away from that witches woods as possible.

Adam had found this cute little cottage and now, apparently, I was about to knock on the door. But, before I even had a chance an old woman came around the corner of the house with a basket of apples in her arms.

"Greetings travellers. May I help you?"

"Oh, good day ma'am. I'm Prince Charming and me and my knight are travelling the lands in search of the rightful owner of this shoe." I held up the glass shoe high enough for the sunrays to hit it and make it sparkle, t'was a nice touch to my speech, which I'd practised very hard.

"So we're wondering if there's a young lady living here by any chance?"

The woman peered curiously at us both, "yes, my daughter. But she's off with a basket of food and wine to my mother who's sick and lives on the other side of the forest."

"Oh, alright. Maybe we'll meet her along the road."

"It would ease my worried heart if you could find her and accompany her to my mothers house. There's a big wolf living in those woods."

Of course there's a fucking wolf! Great, just great. I sighed to myself and my shoulders dropped.

"Of course we will, kind mother," Adam smiled and handed the old lady some coins before we walked off.

"Maybe we could take another road?" I gave Adam a poor excuse of a puppy-eye-look.

"We made a promise to the woman."

"I might die you know."

Adam rolled his eyes and snickered, "wolves don't hunt people."

"Have you forgotten everything from fairytale 101? Wolfs are always mean... aaaaalways!"

Adam shrugged, "I can fight him."

What the actual hell, why did he have to be so brave and hot? And just like that I gave in. I sighed and shook my head. "Fine, let's go fight wolves." Reluctantly I guided my horse towards the edge of the woods. "So cannibal witches scare you but big bad wolves are nothing?"

"Wolves don't mind us as long as we don't threaten them."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"How many have you met?" I asked sarcastically.

"None."

I rolled my eyes, "ahaaa."

"Doesn't matter, it's just an animal."

Somehow I got the feeling he was about to regret those words. But, the sun was shining, bees were buzzing and I was actually in quite a good mood. I could still feel the sensation of his hand in mine. I had so many questions in my head spinning around, like, why'd he let me hold on to his hand all that time? I was stunned and surprised but also ecstatic! It had been the creepiest day of my life, but also the most wonderful.

I pulled my earlobe and peered thoughtfully at my crush. Did he know? Maybe he did, but wasn't sure of how he felt? Or maybe he knew and he was disgusted by it so he pretended like he was oblivious. I sighed to myself as the horses entered the woods. Rays of sunlight shone through the treetops and landed on the fluffy green moss. It looked so soft and cosy and I noticed just how tired I was. "Imagine falling asleep in the sun on that moss," I mumbled dreamily.
