Nickname(s)

I updated my profile recently to say a tiny bit more about myself, like my nicknames and what I'm interested at the time.

So, I put:

Nickname: Rae/Red

What I'm really into right now: Camp Camp

Since I didn't want to share my real name (although I'm sure it's either been said by one of my friends in a comment or it's pretty easy to guess), I just put down my nickname that a lot of my friends call me.

Well, technically, only one of my friends call me Red but whatever.

But putting that in my bio made me think about how I don't share a whole lot about my personal life to people. It also made me think about how people sometimes ask me where my nicknames came from.

Where I got the nickname 'Rae' is kind of a funny story, considering the fact that I used to HATE it when people called me Rae.

Since it's a shortened version of my name, one of my friends would often use it when talking to me, but I kinda hated that friend at that time (it was for no particular reason, I was just being a jerk). So, hating the person, I hated the nickname they gave me too.

Eventually, I actually started hating that friend less, and I grew fond of the nickname Rae. So it kinda stuck and now all of my friends call me that.

The story of how I got the nickname 'Red' is a little more boring, but my friend thinks the name's cool.

Now, I'm still talking about the same friend, the one I used to hate, and at one point, for whatever reason, he wanted to know if I had any other nicknames besides Rae. I told him that some of my family members call me Red, and for two reasons. Reason 1: I was born with red hair, and reason 2: my initials actually spell 'red'.

So he calls me Red now.

That's cool.

Anyways, I kinda just wanted to share that because people often wonder about my nicknames, and I thought it might be cool to share a bit more about myself.
