The sudden sonorific drone of the alarm quelled the serenity of the early morning hours. Grace wrinkled her forehead, chagrined at the screeching clock. She reached for the nightstand and grabbed the table clock. Quickly turning off the alarm, she roughly placed it back on the stand.
She yawned, stretching her body relentlessly. Slowly getting witful of the world around her, she shoved the gigantic duvet away from her body. She was about to get out of the bed when something suddenly pulled her back.
What the hell?
Shocked by the regression of action, She looked down on her body and found Tommy's hand wrapped around her waist. She turned to look at him, and she caught him trying to hold back a laugh while pretending to be asleep.
"You know, you're cute when you pretend to be sleeping." She shot him an intense look like he could see her through closed eyes.
"Hmm" Tommy hummed, pretending to be waking up. "Did you say something honey?" He asked in a fake sleepy voice.
Grace rolled her eyes at him. She unwrapped his arm from her waist and got out of the bed. "You're such a bad pretender" she teased.
She yanked the duvet off of his body and tossed it at the empty space on the other side of the bed.
"Will you get out of bed already? You're gonna be late for work and I have a class to attend. I don't want you to miss your conference meeting this morning, so get your lazy ass outta bed." Her voice switching from mellisonant to stern within the twinkle of an eye.
She went into his closet to sort for what to wear. Tommy let out a low groan as he slowly sat up on the bed reluctantly. He watch Grace rampage his closet for a while then he decided to address the inadequacy of last night's scheduling.
"See? This is why I wanted us to move our anniversary to weekend, but you insisted it remain Thursday. Now you have to go to school and I have to go to work despite the fact that we're exhausted from last night." Tommy snorted and headed for the bathroom.
Grace froze in between sorting out clothes as if time itself suddenly stopped. She spun around, sending him glares that can cut through one's skin. Tommy didn't see any of it as he entered the bathroom the next second.
"Are you kidding right now?" Grace yelped, loud enough for him to hear within the bathroom. "How can we have our anniversary on a day that isn't our anniversary? We officially started dating on the 4th of July, so that means every year our anniversary has to be the 4th day of July. It's not my fault that our anniversary fell on a Thursday this year" she grumped, then slowly resumed rampaging through his clothes.
Tommy sighed. "Honey I understand you but I'm only saying, if it's gonna disturb our activities the next day then we can always shift it to weekend. That way we wouldn't have to worry about you being late for class or me going to work late. We'll just know it's weekend." He attempted reasoning with her.
"We're celebrating our anniversaries on the actual yeartide every year, and that's it" Grace stated in her compelling voice, dismissing the topic.
Tommy huffed out. He knew that voice too well. He just doesn't get why it is so important to Grace that she has the final say on everything. He didn't reply her any further since he wasn't in the mood for another heated conversation.
He washed his hands after he finished his business and went out of the bathroom. Grace was already in his tower, ready to take a shower.
"What do you think of these?" Grace gestured to the clothes she placed on the bed.
"This is what you're wearing to school?" Tommy questioned, waving a hand at his oversized Tees and her ripped Jean on the bed.
"Yep. You don't like my Jean?" She gagged.
