In Puerto Rico, it is celebrated the Three Kings Day, where everyone gets gifts. That morning, at 6:32 am, most of the island was woken up by a strong tremor, a 5.8 magnitude, in Guánica. What a way to celebrate a special day that is only given once a year.
Most of the people were still sleeping so getting woken up by a tremor was not nice. On the contrary, it gave a fright to all and made everyone get out of their house running with fear.
We were so scared that no one went in their houses for some time. I believe no one will forget this earthquake knowing that it happened on a special day.
Time had past after we had felt the first tremor and we thought that we would not feel another, but we were wrong. This earthquake actually did some damage. It collapsed houses that had two floors, it collapsed a tourists attraction called Punta Ventana and other places were cracked.
Although we had a fright, we kept on going with our lives and forgot about the tremors, it was a holiday after all. But we did not know what was yet to come.
