"A life without you means nothing to me, Jordynn," Channing said to her.

"This isn't easy for me either, but you're getting married in three days."

"None of that shit matters if you're not there. You mean the absolute most to me. Don't get me wrong, I love Malaysia, but you are my life."

Channing and Jordynn have known each other for nearly twenty years. They met in the fourth grade and they've been friends ever since. Here they are now just days before the biggest day of his life, and his best friend was walking away from him.

Jordynn knew that Channing wanted—no he needed her—to be there for him. He wouldn't do it if she wasn't there, but she also knew that Malaysia wanted her as far away as possible. Hell, she really wanted her off the same continent. Malaysia and Channing have been together for almost three years. She knew she couldn't compete with Jordynn on getting Channings full attention. Whenever they were together and Jordynn called, Channing dropped everything he was doing.

"You can't just throw away twenty years, Jordynn," Channing cried.

She turned and looked away. She couldn't stand what she was doing to him. Suddenly, he walked to her, and he pulled her in for a long embrace.

"Please, don't leave me, Honey Bee," he whispered in her ear. "I need you, baby."

He pulled away and looked her in the eyes. She has the prettiest greenish-hazel eyes, he thought to himself. Then he leaned in and kissed her. She tried to resist, but she then found herself melting into his kisses. God, this is so wrong, but he feels so damn good, she thought.

"Stop, Chan," she pulled back. "We can't do this again."

"I really don't wanna marry Malaysia," he confessed.

"What?" she was confused.

"Yes, I do love her, but not like people think I should. I proposed because she forced me to choose between you and her," he told her.

Jordynn's mind began to spin. "What are you saying?"

"Malaysia wants you gone completely outta my life. She told me to choose you or her. At that time, you and Nathan were going strong, so I chose her."

"And to prove it, you proposed to her?" she asked.

"Yes, that's why I proposed."

"That's so fucking shallow, Channing, and you know it. Nathan did the same fucking thing. Do you know why were not together anymore?"

"Why?" Channing asked.

"Because I fucking chose our friendship over him. I told him that your friendship meant more than the love I had for him." By now, she was crying. "I gotta go."

She walked out. She couldn't believe how wrong she had been about her and Channing. Deep down though, she knew Channing wouldn't go through with that wedding. And she knew that deep down, they had a twisted sense of love for each other.
