Fairy High Elections

When Lucy got back to school the next day, kids were running down the halls to one destination: the Fairy High gym. She saw Mira running by and stopped her.

"Mira! What's going on?" She had to yell over all of the noise in the hall.

"Laxus resigned! He joined the school as a student! The elections are in the gym today. They'll begin at the first bell, and we will be voting for a new principal! Now come on!"

Lucy and Mira ran to the gym. Inside we're tables upon tables with shoeboxes that had holes in the top. Next to each box was a small piece of paper folded in half like a card. Only one box had a label: RUNNING.

"If you want to run for principal, you need to put your name in that box." Mira explained.

Lucy nodded, but kept walking. Mira put her name in the box. A few minutes later, Max, the assistant principal, stepped onto the stage holding a microphone.

"Hello Fairy High! It's me, your assistant principal, Max. We will now take out the names from the Running box!"

Everyone clapped. Mira ran and handed him the box, then ran back to Lucy to stand next to her.

Max began pulling names. "When I say your name, please come onto the stage. First, Erza Scarlet!" Everyone clapped again. Erza ran onto the stage.

"Mirajane Strauss!"

"Makarov Dreyer!"

"Gildarts Clive!"

"Cana Alberona!"

"Freed Justine!"

"And that is everyone!" Max paused. Mira had written everyone's names that were running for principal on different boxes. "Please put your name in the box for the person you are voting for. Anyone who is running cannot vote. Now, begin!"

And with that, everyone ran to the rows of boxes. Lucy voted for Mira, since she was so nice. Lucy figures she would be a better principal than Laxus was. She noticed that Laxus voted for Freed. She was new, and didn't really know what kind of relationship Freed and Laxus had. Lucy also noticed that Cana was getting lots of votes, but Mira was getting every last one of the boys that attend Fairy High's votes. Lucy saw that several of the papers had names but also said,

"MiraJane, will you marry me?"

Lucy laughed at this. Apparently, Mira was very popular among the boys. At the second bell, everyone gathered in front of the stage again.

"Now, everyone!" Max said. "I will announce who our new principal is!"

Everyone cheered.

"Our new principal...

"Is...

"Makarov Dreyer!" Half the room cheered.

Lucy stood in stunned silence. How had Mira not won? Lucy didn't know Makarov all that well, just that he was very old. She hoped he was better than Laxus.

Everyone went back to class. They still didn't have a teacher. Mira and Lucy went to the principal's office.

"Hello, Principal Makarov? We still don't have a teacher because Laxus fired our old one. Can you hire Mr. Happy again?" Lucy asked.

Principal Makarov thought for a moment. He a raised a finger. "Yes! But he will be assisted by Madam Carla and Sir Lily."

Mira bowed slightly. "Thank you, Principal Makarov."

Principal Makarov grinned. Lucy and Mira went back to their classroom. When they got there, Madam Carla, Mr. Happy, and a black cat called Sir Lily we're waiting for them there.

"Alright, class!" Mr. Happy said. "As you can see, we will be doing things a little different lot from now on. I will be in charge of making any announcements, Madam Carla will be in charge of keeping you kids under control, and Sir Lily will teach you."

Natsu jumped up onto his desk. "Yay! Mr. Happy's back!"

"Yay!" Everyone joined in.

Carla banged a ruler on the desk. Everyone quieted down quickly, but Natsu was still standing on his desk.

"Natsu Dragneel!" Carla yelled. "Get up here this instant and face the class."

Natsu did. Carla raised the ruler, and smacked his backside with it! Lucy screamed in terror, and Natsu screamed in pain. Gray screamed with laughter.

"Aww, how cute, Lucy screamed for her boyfriend!" Cana told everyone.

Everyone started whispering.

"Lucy has a boyfriend?"

"And it's Natsu?"

"Darn, I can't believe she's already taken!"

Carla banged her ruler on the table again. "Quiet, all of you!"

Everyone quieted down. The rest of the school day was pretty boring. Natsu and Gray didn't even get in a fight!

Lucy met up with Erza after school, and her, Erza, Kagura and Miliana went fishing together. It was a fun, crazy day, just like every other day had been since Lucy joined Fairy High.
