I practically fell when I shoved the heels on my feet, dropping my flats into my purse. I'm not most girls. Pfft. I wear heels to get my dominance across. You know how much of a bad bitch you look like when you're looking directly into a man's eye? Pretty damn bad.

I looked off to the side of Val's building and smiled at the cute coffee shop next to it. If I wasn't racing with time then I would totally go in and check out the place but my wristwatch was basically telling me not to do it.

The guy next to the door who kicked me out last time didn't even bat an eye because he assumed I worked in the building based on my outfit. I have to make sure that normal people are allowed in. I'll definitely talk to Val about that.

I skipped up to the front receptionist and she smiled at me. "That smile on your face is making me guess that you're Miss. Lacey?" The older woman asked and I nodded my head. "Mr. Price said to look out for a brunette with a smile and I got confused, but you practically radiate," she chuckled as she opened a drawer and rummaged around before typing in her computer, "let me just check you into the system and you could head upstairs."

"Thank you," I said as I leaned against the desk letting her do her thing when a guy with dark hair and dark brown eyes walked into the building with a scowl on his face.

He practically stomped his way to the receptionist who just huffed out a breath without even having to look up at him, "Hello Marco."

"Annette, I told you that you have to respect me and call me by my last name in this building," the guy sighed out and I arched an eyebrow at the way he spoke to the woman who could probably be his mother's age.

"Yeah no, I don't think so. Doesn't feel right when Mr. Price is my actual boss," she shrugged and I covered my mouth with my hands to keep from giggling as the man practically growled.

Growled!

He caught my sight and I shivered at the way his eyes roamed over me from head to toe. Can't say I was a fan of the way it made me feel.

"Who might this be?" He asked in a voice that sounded like it should be seductive, but truly just made me start to reach for my handy dandy pepper spray.

"Not any of your business," I said with a nod and Annette let out a loud laugh. Marco rolled his eyes and handed an envelope to her.

"Just make sure Valentino gets these," he grumbled before he stomped out of the building.

"I think I'm going to like your presence, Audrey," Annette smiled as she handed me my pass and everything.

"I like you already, Annette. I'll see you on my way out!" I saluted her and made my way to the elevator and headed up to my new place of work.

Everyone seemed to be busy with work when I entered the floor. I've never been accustomed to the type of city life that they show in the movies, so seeing it head-on was exhilarating.

"Audrey?" A voice asked and I looked at the guy who was sitting at a huge desk that was at the entrance of the floor. Based on the paperwork and the headset he seemed to be the receptionist.

"Well you know my name, so it would only be kind if I knew yours," I said with a smile as I approached the desk and he smiled at me. He was kind looking with these dimples that lit up his face and a 'can do' attitude radiating off him.

"Chase. I'm a college student and I got this rad receptionist job. So I'm thinking if I establish myself enough then I can definitely find a place in this company."
