I lay on the couch in Valentino's office and let my eyes wander around.
"So you're saying that you're super-rich," I voice out loud to Val and he hums a response from his desk. That causes me to sit up on the couch and squint at him across the room.
When I mean across the room I don't mean I'm the way that I can touch him from here. I mean that it'll take me two skips and a hop to actually get there. The office is huge, probably bigger than my apartment. "You're super-rich and you got me fired from not only my fucking pizza delivery job but also from being a bartender. You're joking Valentino. You have got to be kidding me." I got up from my seat and went up to his desk. "I think I'm going to kill you. Yup, that's what I'm going to do. Because how I'm standing here completely jobless is beyond me!" I grabbed him by the lapels of his jacket over the desk and he just stared at me with a little smirk on his face.
"You're probably smiling because you know I'm going to unblame you in a second and it's weird that you know that since we've only known each other for a little while and I'm not here for it Valentino," I growled out.
"I like it better when you call me Val," he said quietly and I squinted at him.
"What are you talking about? It's just a nickname." He just keeps confusing me more and more. Letting go of him I watch as he leaned back in his huge leather chair and watched me on the other side of his desk.
"I don't really let people call me by nicknames," he said with his eyes downcast on the desk in front of him. My eyebrows scrunched together and I walked to his side of the desk, hopping up to sit in it. I crossed one leg over the other and leaned my arms back behind me as I looked at him.
"You're just a bag of confusing aren't ya?" I asked through a chuckle.
He lifted his gaze up to me when I sat in front of him, "Can I ask you a question?"
"Shoot. I am so lost in the world of confusion today that I might as well clear some stuff up," I shrugged as I looked at him.
He bit his lip before taking a breath and looking me in the eye, "Are you going to treat me differently now... you know, because you know about me?" I scoff. And then I giggle. And then I start howling in laughter on top of the crazy man's desk. Clutching my stomach and all.
"You think just because you got money that I'm going to treat you differently? I'm not going to kiss your ass because I learned your desk probably cost more than my student loans," I giggled out.
He shook his head at me, "No, I don't mean sucking up," he rolled his eyes at me and then looked into my eyes again and I got lost in the green and then the brown, flickering back and forth between the two.
"I mean that I liked the way you treated me before. I liked the people we were in the park and would appreciate if it stayed like that." Oh, I see now. He's scared that I'll treat him like the people that work for him. Well, no can do bucko.
"The people in the park were technically on a date. So I would appreciate it if we could try being those people again. I'm just shocked is all," I said quietly from laying on his desk and I watched as he gave me a gleaming smile.
He pulled his chair closer so we were only a few inches apart and I smiled back at him because something about his smile pulls one on my own face.
"Can I ask you a question?"
