I applied the final touch of make-up to my face, the last stroke of white on my eyelid to complete the wing. One the other eye it looked the same, perfectly symmetrical which was rare. It was the beginning night of the last stretch of our show, 'WINGS' and everyone was nervous. The performers around me all were rushing around, checking voices, and making sure they were properly stretched and limber. It seems it didn't matter how many times we had already performed the show, to everyone it still felt like the first day. I felt just as nervous as everyone else, but with a partner like Jimin, I felt confident we would be great. My costume for the night was simple, and I needed it that way. I had a tight navy blue romper on with white accents running up the sides. Bodypaint on my arms matched the white accents on the romper. After I checked on my costume and my make up was complete I began to stretch. It felt good to stretch my legs, the slight burn in my legs was nice. I could feel myself slowly getting more and more nervous, my body became antsy. I needed to be around Jimin, he would help ease these nerves.

When I got over to him I finally noticed where he was. Behind the curtains, we had a small window where we could look out into the crowd. Sometimes people would use it to boost their self-esteem or to find family and friends who came to watch.

"I see that Loverboy is a fan of the circus," Jimin says smirking as he looks down at someone in the audience.

"Who?" I asked confused as I looked out the window and followed where his finger pointed. There was Jungkook sitting in the crowd. He was talking to a few other people around him, probably his friends he came with.

"We are so going out for ice cream soon. Can't wait to see the look on Loverboy's face when he sees you out there tonight looking like a meal." I roll my eyes and move away from the window.

"Stop calling him Loverboy. What if you completely misread him at the ice cream parlor?" I ask and he sighs, giving one last glance out the window.

"If I did, I will buy you ice cream for the rest of your life. But if I'm right, you have to admit that I was right and you were wrong." He holds out his hand and I take it, shaking his hand.

"Get your wallet ready." Jimin throws his head back in laughter and shakes his head.

"Honey get ready to lose."

The room was dark. I couldn't see anything but that didn't matter. My body knew what to do because it had done it a thousand times. Then the music kick on. Lights slowly began to fill the room, illuminating Jimin and myself. Jimin began to climb on the silks, I waited until he reached the top and climbed after him. I could sense the awe in the audience as the performance really began. Our bodies twisted with the ropes, but never once did we fall or collide into each other. Our bodies moved with the silks in perfect time, making the audience gasp. We were nearing the end of the routine and both me and Jimin slowly losing our breath. But we still finished the show with ease, the song slowly fading away, leaving the audience to fill the silence with applause. Jimin and I stay where we are, not moving a muscle until the lights dim and we quickly scurry off the stage.

Out of breath, Jimin and I collapse on a couch nearby and watch the other performances on the screen in front of us. The next act was the hoops. These performers were the eldest in the show and knew their talent well. With experience, they rolled, jumped, and pulled. All using their body weight wisely, making sure to distribute the weight, much like for the silks. The audience went crazy at the end of the performance and it was time for the group act. I followed Jimin and he walked over to where the younger silk performers where. He gave some words to comfort them and I asked to see if everyone was ready. It was the last performance of the day and everyone was excited, their nervous stomachs turning into excited butterflies. Our part in the act didn't happen till near the middle and so we all hung out at the top of your silks, sometimes flashing funny faces at each in the dim light.

The show ends with a standing audience, everyone was clapping and cheering for us as the lights burned down on our faces. Everyone on stage was trying to keep their positions and gain oxygen into their bodies. The lights shut off after a minute or two and we all rushed backstage. Once everyone was out of sight the lights kicked on again and two by two we came out from the opposite sides of the backstage and walked onto the stage, lining up and holding hands. I walk out and grab the hands of the people beside me. Once we are all there we take a bow and then another bow as the crowd cheers for us. Then we let go and head backstage for the rest of the night.

"You were fabulous tonight darling." Jimin playfully compliments as he takes his make-up off with a wipe.

"Oh compared to me you were a star!" I shoot back at him, grabbing a wipe to remove my own make-up.

"I'm feeling like tomorrow we should go out for lunch tomorrow, my treat," Jimin says changing his clothes behind a curtain.

"Hmm. What were you thinking?" I ask letting down my hair and fingering through it.

"Ice cream perhaps?" He pokes his head out from behind the curtain with a playfully smirk against his lips. I glare at him through the corner of my eyes.

"I don't like the game you are playing, but free ice cream is worth whatever game it is." Jimin shakes his head and chuckles as he zips up his hoodie and walks fully out from behind the curtain. I grab my clothes and quickly change behind the curtain.

Freshly clothed and clean-faced, Jimin and I walk side by side out to the parking lot to go home.
