" Sophie I think you should get some rest," Alden said, the first to talk, " go home,"
Sophie knew he was right but she didn't want to leave Keefe's side. As if knowing how she felt, which he probably did since he was an empath, he tried to get her to leave to. "I'll be fine Sophie go get some sleep. We'll talk to Fitzy for you."
" Okay," she agreed, she could probably play with Wynn and Luna to cheer her up. That was when she remembered, the first place Silveny had ever teleported her to. The meadow surrounded by white peaked mountains. No sooner had she gotten to Haven Field when Luna ran up and knocked her to the ground. She could spare a few minutes with the baby alicorns. She decided to play with Wynn and Luna, but if it came to it she'd teleport to Silveny's meadow for a little while. Wynn and Luna started dashing back and forth in front of her both desperate for attention. Eventually, she gave in and set off to find some swizzlespice. Sure enough, five minutes later she was asking Edaline for her supplies of swizzlespice.
" Are you okay," Edaline pondered after handing her some of that day's harvest, "Did something happen at the Healing Center?"
" Keefewokeup," She mumbled.
" What," Edaline was clearly confused.
" Keefe woke up today," she replied, " and then Fitz got mad at me,"
" Oh?" Edaline pushed, " why?"
" I don't know I told Keefe something and Fitz got mad at me and I don't know why,"
" Oh, honey," Edaline comforted, " I wish I had two boys fighting over me."
" What," Sophie was the confused one know," No one's fighting over me!"
" Honey, Fitz was jealous because you trusted Keefe more than him,"
" I do trust him though," she was starting to understand where this conversation was heading," he's my cognate."
" Then why did you tell Keefe but not him?"
Edaline was right. She trusted Fitz, but Keefe had always been there for her. " Keefe always helps me with this kind of stuff," she answered
" Fitz could help you too, " she argued
" Yeah but-" she never finished that sentence because Edaline had a big dopey grin on her face." What's so funny"
You love him don't you?" Edaline questioned
" W- What, who are you talking about," she asked scratching the back of her head
" That Keefe boy," Edaline smiled," he's always been dear to you, correct?"
" y-y- Yeah." Sophie didn't like where this was going
" That's why honey, I know it's confusing but you need Keefe, always have you just needed to realize it."
Everything Edaline was saying did match how she felt but did Keefe like her? Was that why Fitz was jealous? Ugh her life was so confusing.
" I think you should get some sleep," Edaline suggested, " you look tired."
" Okay, thanks, mom," I said heading for the house.
