Homecoming (Part 2)

Dinner was fantastic, the four friends shared great conversations and lots of laughs. This would definitely be a wonderful memory they wouldn't soon forget. They were finishing up dessert when the waiter brought the check so they could pay. They left the restaurant around 7:30, which gave them just enough time to get to the dance before it started.

*Rosemary's POV*

Jack pulled into the school's parking lot at about 7:55. We all got out of the car and made our way to the gym. We were standing outside in line while they checked everyone into the dance when a I started to get a little chilly. I decided to put my coat on but was having a bit of trouble

"Here" Lee took my other arm and held it out for me while I slipped my arm into it

"Thank you" I smile back

Lee wrapped one of his hands around my waist and pulled me to his side for extra warmth. We finally made it to the front of the line, Lee handed the tickets to Ms. Foster and she gave us our wrist bands. Once we were all checked in Lee and I walked over the coat check area where I handed my coat and clutch to one of the student council kids and they handed me a piece of paper with a number on it so I could claim my things at the end of the night.

"Will you put this in your pocket, so I don't lose it please" I asked handing Lee the claim ticket

"Sure thing" he replied taking the ticket from my hand and placing it in his pocket

We waited for Jack and Elizabeth while she checked in her things. Once she handed her coat and purse to one of the students and got her ticket her and Jack walked over to Lee and me.

"Want to take a few pictures at the photo booth before we go inside" I suggested

"Haven't we taken enough pictures already Rosie" Jack complained

"Ya I'm with Jack on this one" Lee agreed

"Well I think it could be fun" Elizabeth said

Elizabeth and I looked at each other and smiled a bit before we looked at our dates and gave them both a little pouty face. They both sighed and gave in; we took a couple silly group pictures before we walked into the dance. There weren't many people on the dance floor at the moment, so I took this opportunity to socialize a little. I found some of my friends from theater class and the production, we talked a little and complemented each other's outfits. Around 8:30 or so the dance floor started to fill up a little more and Jack, Lee, Elizabeth and I made our way over and started dancing. The last song had just ended, and I was about to go get some water when one of my favorite songs started playing. I heard the first few notes when I whipped back around to Elizabeth and she had the same childish grin I had on my face. It was Taylor Swift's You Belong with Me, immediately Elizabeth start jumping up and down and singing along.

She wears high heels
I wear sneakers
She's cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers

Once the song was over Elizabeth and I burst into laughter at the utter chaos that just happened.

"I have to go to the restroom I'll be right back" I said

"I'll go with you" Elizabeth replied
