Chaeyoung and Mina stood quietly out in the patio with one another. Dahyun and Sana watched while inside the awkward interaction from the two and groaned internally. What have they done? If you saw the two at this moment you too would feel the unsettling aura of the room.
"Should we let them be alone like that? What if...what Mina stabs her or something?" Dahyun asked. Sana scoffed.
"Why would she do that? Why did you try to rush Mina out the door? She was here first and our priority. We invited her, not Chaeyoung." Sana scolded her girlfriend. Dahyun sighed and put her hand over her hips.
"You're really going to condone this right now? There could be a blood bath. If you don't remember, those two didn't quite end things on a good note." Dahyun said and pointed.
"Of course I know that! But there's no reason to overreact right now! For god's sake Dahyun!" Sana raised her voice. "Don't start using God's name like that!" Dahyun spat.
Mina and Chaeyoung watched from outside the quarrel that was ensued between the two girlfriends and then looked at one another. If Sana and Dahyun thought these two were going to be the ones arguing, boy were they wrong. Or were they?
"Oh, sorry." Mina said and looked away causing Chaeyoung to do the same. "Oh, no. I was the one staring." Chaeyoung said and looked away.
Silence overcame the two once again as they continued to watch Sana and Dahyun argue from outside the window. Really, what was there to be said after two years of silence? What was there to speak on when the two had ended things poorly.
'How are you?'
'What are you doing with your life now?'
'How is your girlfriend?'
Should those things be asked? And if so, when? Now? Now when the two were nervously trying their best not to fall apart right before Sana and Dahyun who still were arguing about them.
"I like your hair. It suits you." Mina blurted out and turned her back to Chaeyoung as she hid her rosy cheeks and her biting lip. Chaeyoung looked at Mina and blushed. She liked her hair too.
"Thanks. I like yours too. It's funny...we're both blonde now." Chaeyoung said as she took noticed the change in color. Mina nodded as if to say 'thank you' silently. Chaeyoung gulped and rubbed the back of her neck.
"I saw you earlier. It was nice seeing you pass by." Chaeyoung said softly. Mina parted her lips but wasn't able to say anything. What was there to say? I saw you and your girlfriend kiss?
"Look, about Tzuyu-." Mina turned around quickly.
"I'm happy for you. Really. I hope you two are thriving amongst everything. I'm happy...for you." Mina said and put on a fake smile. Chaeyoung blinked a few times and grew silent. Oh...so she knew and she was...happy for them? Chaeyoung averted her eyes and looked elsewhere. Now what was there to be said?
"I-I have a partner as well. My boyfriend, Mark. He's wonderful and I was just on my way to see him briefly before I came here to Sana and Dahyun's." Mina...lied.
Chaeyoung's heart skipped a beat. A boyfriend? When did she start dating this Mark? Where did she meet him? Was he handsome?
Was she seeing him and falling in love with him when they met? All these questions and Chaeyoung could feel herself start to get reckless. What the hell was she to say about this?
"Oh." Was all she managed to say. Oh. Oh yes, just an 'oh' as we all our surprised now. Mina frowned. She hated lying to Chaeyoung but how else could she hide that she was jealous and even sad about Chaeyoung having a girlfriend?
