Good To You – Introduction

"So, you’re just leaving," Tori asked me, her hands on her hips. She eyed my suitcase as I gradually filled it up with clothes and toiletries. "You’re just going to get up and go to Vancouver? Without even letting Aaron know?"

I sighed. "Tori, you know what he would do if he found out I was leaving-"

"And you know what’s going to happen when he comes home from to see that you’re not home!" she yelled at me. I stiffened, I knew exactly what he was going to do.

"Katherine," Tori’s tone was more soft. "Please, just stay. I know that you’ve been feeling a bit home sick lately. I know you’ve been missing Josh and Matt, but honey," she paused, trying to find the right words. "You have a life here. You can’t just pack up your things and leave your friends and family behind!"

I sighed. "Look, Tori," I looked directly into her brown eyes. "I am not staying in Vancouver for good. I am just going down to see some old flames. I am going to be there maybe a week, two weeks tops. It all depends-"

"Depends on what?"

I looked down at my suitcase and began to zip it up. Sighing, I answered her. "Nothing, Tori. Just nothing. It all depends if I want to stay there longer than anticipated, alright?"

Her lips formed a thin, straight line before replying. "Alright. Well, what happens when Aaron finds out where you are?"

"Simple," I stated. "You’re going to call me so I have a heads up. If he calls me first then I’ll just have him yell at me over the phone."

"What if he comes to Vancouver to get you?"

My eyes filled with terror. What if he came to Vancouver? "Well," I bit down on my bottom lip. "He has no clue where I’m staying. And if he does know, just try your best to keep him here. Please Tori. I really need to go there, I need to see them again."

It took her a minute, but Tori nodded her head. She agreed to keep Aaron here. Good.

So many things were running through my head. Most of them concerning Aaron, however, one stood out. The reason why I was returning back to my old home in Vancouver. Yes, it was true. I needed to see my best friends again, the ones who were living their lives. But, my reasoning went deeper than that.

It wasn’t until recently that Josh made contact with me more and more each day. His voice put a smile on my face each day, but it also broke my heart. He would constantly say that he missed me and that he wanted me to visit him. Actually, his words were: "I need you here, Kitty-Kat. Matt misses you, but I miss you more. Please Kat... I really, truly need you right now. Just for a week. Please."

When he told me that, his voice was hurt, broken and his sounded as if he were going to cry. Which of course, made me say yes.

"Okay, Josh," I spoke softly. "I’ll come by to see you... a-and Matt!" I added the last part quickly.

"Sweet!" he sounded instantly better. Holy shit... the little fucker was faking it! "I’ll see you tomorrow, ‘kay? Awesome. Bye!" Then he hung up.

I was still a bit peeved that he faked being sad, but I still did want to see him. My true reason for going to see him; a second chance.
