I let out the water inside my throat and gasped for air as soon as I opened my eyes. I coughed hard, clutching my chest. I touched my head. My mask was still on, only leaving my mouth to be revealed. I looked around frantically. We were in a cave somewhere near the beach.
"Wha... *cough* how...?" I managed to speak, "Aoi?"
"Slow down, buddy," Deadpool patted my back, "We barely survived."
"I don't... understand," I said, "I thought the cell won't break?"
"You didn't catch what your boyfriend was saying?" Deadpool asked.
"Huh? He said something?"
"Ah... I thought mini Merlin was being crappy in making coded messages, turned out it was to make it easy enough for you to get."
"I admit, I'm a bit dumb on secret exchanges. So he somehow released us after pretending to be on their side?"
"Yeah. The cage was broken open after a few minutes. You are lucky I'm an ace on holding breaths."
"Wait, why didn't you take off my mask?" I got curious.
"I wanted to keep my fantasy strong, hot stuff" Deadpool confessed, "If I see your real face, it would ruin my wet dreams. I mean you look perfect now, almost naked but still leaving the mask on."
"Hmm... We should go back and get Aoi for real this time," I put on my mask all the way, making myself ready to go again.
"Nope. You are not going back," Deadpool stopped me from standing up by grabbing my arm.
"What do you mean? Aoi is in there, Pool!" I got worked up.
"I will," he continued, "I'll be the one who'll fetch him."
"Is it because I suck at undercover missions?"
"Because I'm expendable. If they find me, there'll be less complications."
"Pool, you are not expendable. You are a handful but you are still-"
"I can't die, remember?"
"Oh, right! I forgot about that..."
"What did you want to say anyway? You didn't finish," Deadpool put his chin on my shoulder.
"... forget it."
"Aw, you're no fun, Spidey-boo!"
"What's your plan anyway?" I brought up the important topic back.
"I'll pick Aoi with our costumes and weapons back, you climb the building and wait for us outside, in case something bad happens."
"Noted."
"Okay, let's do this shit," Deadpool stood up.
"Pool, I trust Aoi to you," I said to him.
"He became my friend too. I'll keep him scratchless."
"You too, be safe."
"Sugar Web, I'm very touched at this moment," Deadpool put both of his hands on his chest, "But don't be too concerned. We'll get the hell out of the shithole in one piece."
Deadpool ran out of the cave while I climbed up the cliff. The cliff was inverted in structure, in a sense of slanting more horizontally toward the cliff top. If my limbs weren't sticking to the wall, it would be crazy challenging to climb the walls with only a hospital gown to cover your body. I reached the ground at the end but hid myself behind the almost nonexistent trees near the building. Concerned about the security cameras, I requested Karen to scan the areas. Karen spotted a total of five cameras on my side of the building. I prepared double the numbers of rocks to take down each of them. Two of the cameras were not so very high from where I was. I aimed for the lowest one with the help of the AI and managed to break it with one strike. The next one was harder, since it was twice the height of the first one and were further away from where I hid myself. But luckily, I could shoot it down with two tries. Aside from the troublesome cameras, the walls were pretty easy to crawl at. There are no windows or balconies until the very top floor where Pool and I were thrown from. After taking down two more of those while climbing, I put myself at an angle where the last one couldn't capture and aim it carefully. The first one missed. The second one was also frustratingly missed. I only have two more rocks left. I carefully aimed the camera, even changing my pose of crouching. I almost jumped when I finally hit the last one. My celebration was cut short when a loud alarm was buzzing throughout the city. I panicked, thinking it went off by what I did. All I could do was plant my body close to the wall hoping to somehow camouflage with the wall, which of course was useless to do. I held the position for what seemed to be half an hour, but nobody from the building came out. I was confused but instead of pausing any longer, I continued scaling the headquarter tower. The building is shaped like a nail. The topmost floor is much larger in dimension than the rest of the tower, kinda like the Space Needle tower in Seattle, only this has rooms throughout the floors instead of only at the top. As I reached the uppermost floor, a very large jet came entering the city island. I began to notice it was the X-Men's when the members came out from it and flew into the headquarters. To hide myself, I stuck myself under the bottom of the execution room. It was the perfect blind spot. I got a bit nervous when I could recognize some of the X-Men which came out. There were eight of them. The most recognizable one was Storm. I really didn't want to mess with her. Then Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, Nightcrawler, Iceman, Colossus followed. The last ones from the groups are Professor Charles Xavier, the headmaster of the school of the gifted and the director of the team and Jean Grey, the most powerful of the team who probably lifted all of the members to the headquarter telepathically. I kept my mouth completely shut the entire time. I wanted to meet Ms. Storm so bad but that wasn't the best time for a fan-meeting event. The groups crashed their way into the execution room. They weren't there on friendly terms. I knew it was about what Magneto and his members did last Wednesday. But I remembered about Aoi out of nowhere.
