chapter twenty-two

IT WAS CHRISTMAS EVE WHENEVER CAITLIN RECEIVED A LETTER. It was from Charlie, Caitlin smiled at the owl who was named Pigwidgeon, Caitlin tipped the owl and it was away to the Wealsey's.

Caitlin opened the letter, a big smile covered her face as she read it.

Dear Caitlin,

I miss you. A lot, it's quiet boring without you by my side. Mums going mad because it's Christmas tomorrow. The house is decorated from top to bottom, I swear whenever we get our own place I won't have as much Christmas decorations as she does.

How are your family doing? I hope it's as twice as mad as ours. I'm hoping to come and see you after our dinner and presents, I have a present for you as well.

Mum can't wait to see you, you're her favourite child. How did you manage that? It's getting late, I'll see you tomorrow. Tell your folks that I said a merry Christmas.

Charlie.

Caitlin smiled and giggled. She had Charlie's present bought awhile ago. She had help from Charlie's family, especially his mum. Caitlin hopes that he would like the gift.

She couldn't wait to see him tomorrow, she grabbed her paper and pen and wrote back to Charlie.

Dear Charles,

It's not just as mad as your house, the twins are in bed and everyone else is in their bedrooms. I think we have to get up early tomorrow because of the twins, I'm not looking forward to that.

And of course I'm your mom's favourite (I'm the only one who would listen to her) I miss you as well, tell everyone that I said a merry Christmas to them as well.

I really hope they you like your present I worked hard on it. I'll see you tomorrow, goodnight.

She smiled and rolled up the paper, she got her family owl, who was named Eli, and wrapped the paper around his leg. She opened her window "to Charlie Wealsey" she told him and he flew away.

She hoped that the paper would get to Charlie and that Eli wouldn't go somewhere else like he has in the past. Caitlin left the window opened and got into warmer pyjamas.

She brushed her teeth and then went to bed, she snuggled into her pillows and then went into a deep sleep.

"Cat! Cat! CAT WAKE UP IT'S CHRISTMAS!" Caitlin groaned as she put her pillow over her head. The time has come, Caitlin had to get out of her bed.

"One more minute?" Caitlin pleaded but the twins shook there heads as she sighs "okay" Caitlin said as she stared at the twins "I need you two to move" she told them "so that I can get up?" The twins then smiled and got up off of her bed.

Caitlin pushed the warm covers off of her body and grabbed a hoodie and put it on.

"Come on Caitlin!" her mother called down from the living room. She looked at her brother who was also out of bed "they got you too?" Ryan asked as Caitlin nodded her head.

"Yeah, probably after you. But it takes you ten minutes to awake up anyway" Ryan pushed his little sister and she grinned at him.
