Sawyer's POV
I woke up and slowly took in my surroundings. From what I was seeing, this place was beyond creepy. Although I couldn't dwell too much on the thought when I was hit with this throbbing headache. I groaned as the pain felt like eternity while the scent of mixed ingredients drowned every other scent in the room. It was after being comforted by Aisha that I knew she was even in the room.
"Are you okay?" Aisha asked and I nodded.
"I'm fine. Where are we? What is this place?" I asked mildly confused as I took in my surroundings.
"You're in my home. Drink this."
An old lady suddenly stood in front of me with a cup.
I stared at the old lady before glancing at the cup in her hand. Saying that it smelled disgusting would have been the understatement of the year. It had a black color and honestly, I couldn't tell whether or not it was bubbling because it was hot or something else. As I wondered what the hell this strange concoction is, she rolled her eyes, insisting for me to take it.
"What the hell is that?" I scrunched up my nose at the foul scent and she grumbled.
"If you want the headache to stop then I suggest you quit acting like a baby and drink the damn tea," she ordered, and I glanced back at the cup, frowning.
Wait...Is that suppose to be tea? My head started throbbing again, but worse. Not to mention my entire body aches, but that's something I'm used to. It's just the aftereffects when I shift back into human after a full moon shift, but the headache was the worst. I reluctantly took the cup form her hand and lifted it to my lips. My eyes started to water at the smell, and I decided it's better if I just drink it in one go. The taste was even worse. So much, that I shudder as I swallowed it down and gasp when I finished.
"What the hell kind of pain reliever, is that?" I asked with a throaty voice.
"The kind that spares me from your pathetic groaning," she replied as she walked towards her table doing something. "It's rather annoying."
"What was that?" I growled only to be stopped by Aisha who planted a firm hand on my chest.
"Sawyer, calm down," she says calmly, but I was too irritated by her attitude to calm down. "You just went through a full moon shift. You should take it easy."
"Calm down!? She has a lot of nerve, calling me pathetic for feeling pain. Last time I check I wouldn't be in pain if it wasn't for you. And you have the gall to think of my pain as annoying," I spat, and she closed a book, while turning to me with a scowl.
"If it hadn't been for me, your friend here would've been dead if I didn't do what I did to you," she counters, and I was suddenly speechless. When I couldn't form any words in my defense, she huffed. "Thought so."
With a huff, I stormed towards the stairs. "I'm out of here!" I growled as I made my way towards the stairs and not soon enough, I was already out the door. I know she's right, which is exactly why I can't stand to be here any longer than I should.
"Sawyer, wait." I turned to see Aisha running after me before coming to a stop. "I'm sorry."
I frowned at her apology for a second before asking, "What are you apologizing for? You're not the one who cast a migraine spell on me. Or whatever the hell she calls it," I told her, and she shakes her head "no". "If anyone has to apologize is that old hag."
"Actually, I do. I mean if I just left, you wouldn't have lost control and you wouldn't had to deal with her. She had to put you through that because I didn't do as you said."
