Aisha's POV
This is bad. Sawyer's badly injured and he needed immediate medical attention. He said no hospitals, which kind of makes sense. We wouldn't exactly be able to explain anything and without a doubt the doctor would get Shane involved. Damn it. If this keeps up, he might bleed to death. I'm surprised he managed to remain conscious till we made it to his house. He doesn't seem weak at all, but damn. He's like some kind of beast. I gently placed him on the couch before I started searching in my backpack.
"I need you to take your shirt of. Can you do that, or you need some help?" I asked as I pulled out an emergency first aid kit.
"I can do that," he replied with a groan as he slowly peels of his shirt.
My eyes widen, slowly taking in every little detail. Damn he's build like a Greek god alright. Shaking my head, I thought to myself, "Not the time. Focus on patching him up." I grabbed an antibiotic spray, forceps and a few cotton balls. First, I need to clean the wound, then I'll stitch it close.
"Do you always randomly carry a first aid kit with you?" he asked and I blushed slightly.
"Well, when I was a kid, me and my friends would do the craziest of stuff in the forest. Which usually resulted in a scrape knee or something. I decided to always carry one with me ever since. Force of habit I suppose," I replied with a giggle, recalling the memories.
I kneeled on the couch, with the items in hands.
"Okay, this might sting a little," I warned him, and he nodded. I sprayed the antibiotic and gently tapped the wound to clean it and Sawyer grunts.
"Saved my life and patching me up? You're on fire tonight," he joked with a pained smile and chuckled.
"I'd say we're even now," I giggled.
"You saved my life just to get even? I don't think my heart could take it," he joked, and I blushed.
"W-what? T-that's not-. Its not like that," I stammered and he chuckles.
"I was just messing with you. I had no idea you were a doctor. You got a knack for this sort of thing."
Shrugging I replied, "It's nothing really. I just saw my mom do this a few times before. I managed to pick up a few things, by seeing her work."
"Is she a doctor?" he asked as he shifted for the fourth time already.
"Veterinarian actually, but yeah," I answered as I grumbled at the fifth shift. "Now, will you stop moving around. I can't do anything if you won't hold still."
"Yeah, sorry. How bad is it?" he asked, and I winced at the wound.
"Honestly, Im surprised you managed to stay conscious till we made it back. I mean considering the loss of blood and the pain that comes along with it, you shouldn't be awake right now," I explained to him. "To be honest, I'm not sure you should even be alive right now," I added and he pouts.
"Hey, don't go killing me off yet. I'm tougher than you might think," he said with a small chuckle that later results into a groan.
"I don't know whether you're tough or just stubborn," I countered and his face suddenly became serious.
"Would you prefer I wasn't?" he asked lowly that caused a shiver.
I gazed up into his eyes as I thought about it. Truth is I prefer he was. However...
"I prefer you don't jump in to save me if it gets you like this," I answered, gesturing to his body, "or worse."
"Impossible," he whispered, and I felt warm at his words and I had to tear my eyes away so I could finish patching him up.
