Goodbye Lena

When you get to the hospital, Lena's memory returns the minute she steps a foot inside. Her mind is filled with all the names and faces of her coworkers, patient and everything that she knew by heart.

Leaving her alone to deal with her returned memories, you stepped to the receptionist's desk.

"Hi, I'm just wondering if you know Lena?"

"Lena? As in Dr. Lena Luthor?"

Hearing her last name being mentioned, Lena moves to stand beside you.

"Luthor! Yes, that's my name!"

"Yes, Dr. Luthor, is she in?"

The nurse is a little confused to hear you asking about Dr. Luthor so she decides to let Lena's mentor answer your questions. She excuses herself and gives Dr. Tanaka a call about you visit her office.

"Dr. Tanaka, will be able to answer more questions about Dr. Luthor. Please head to the third floor."

You thanked her and rode the elevator up to the third floor where Dr. Tanaka was waiting for you.

"Ms. (l/n)?"

You nod and introduce yourself, listening to what Lena was telling you about how to talk to her.

"Tell her you're my girlfriend. She won't tell you anything unless she knows that we're intimately connected."

"I'm her girlfriend."

Sasha is blindsided by the information you had just told her.

"Excuse me, what?" She replied. "I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time believing that."

"Why?"

"Lena's whole life was this hospital. She never had time to meet anyone outside of it. Never even went out on a single date since I knew her."

Not wanting to get caught in a lie from the various questions she asked, you just told her that the two of you were recent and that you had just moved in to her apartment.

Still not quite believing you but having answered a few questions about Lena correctly, Dr. Tanaka starts to explain what had happened to Lena.

"God, (y/n). It's all coming back to me. I...it was awful."

Feeling like a terrible girlfriend for not knowing about the accident, you felt the need to explain to her about where you had been. Saying that you had been out of the country on a business trip and had recently returned.

While the two of you talked some more, you took notice of the fact that Lena kept looking towards a particular room.

"I can take you to her if you'd like."

Sasha tells you as she notices you distracted. You nod in agreement and follow her to the room.

"I'll leave you alone."

Inside the room, Lena is trying out different ways to return back to her body but nothing works.

"Okay, I have an idea. Turn around."

"Why?"

"I'm going to try something, alright? Do it."

Lena turns around, waiting impatiently to see what you were doing.

"Hurry up, I'm.....Wait, do that again."

You had touched her arm wanting to see if her soul was still connected to her body and it was. You again touched her arm and Lena turned around to see that it wasn't all being made it up.

"I don't understand. Why can I feel it?"

You go on to explain to her about how her soul is still connected to her body but she refuses to listen. Saying that it made no sense and using all kinds of scientific explanations about how it could all be in her head.

The two of you are about to start another argument when Sasha comes in to let you know that she was heading to a meeting and that she couldn't leave you unattended. Thanking her, you just asked for a few more minutes to be alone with her.

You turned back around to find that Lena was staring at a picture frame.

"That's the frame that was in my nightstand."

Walking to where it was, you picked it up to take a closer look.

"Listen, I'm going to have to leave now. I'll wait for you dow..."

"No. It's okay."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, thank you for helping me (y/n). It meant a lot to me."

There was really nothing else to say but goodbye.

"Goodbye Lena."

"Goodbye."
