days and nights came to pass
when she finally opened her eyes
coming out from a dream of galaxies,
she greeted the dawning skies

downing cupfuls of moonlight
travelling through sight
she loved, lived, laughed then was lost
and now she was somewhere far from doing those

the right words brushed against her
like heavy paint against thin sheets of paper
she lift her chin to see the meteors shoot
and summed up her life with this one truth:

some stars travel a distance
only to fall
