Chapter 4: Friends

Taehyung and Jimin had finished their work shift and were walking to Taehyung's house for a sleepover. The streets were dimly lit, and the calm night embraced them. Faint sounds of crickets chirping were heard in the distance.

The two didn't talk to one another, but stayed in the comfortable silence walking hand in hand. The silence was broken when Jimin decided to talk.

"You know Tae... I'm so glad to have met you. When we first started to get to know each other, I felt something I never felt before. I felt like I met my other half, someone who could relate to me, someone... who could understand me. I feel like we are more than friends Tae, we're soulmates."

Taehyung stopped and looked over to Jimin. A smile crept up on his face as cupped Jimin's face. "Aww~ Are you getting sentimental on me now~!"

"N-no! I j-just wanted you to know that... I'm thankful for you. Without you, I probably w-wouldn't be here now..."

"Jimin... I know that you have been through tough times, and so have I to be frank. I'm always here for you. Soulmates forever, right?"

"Soulmates forever..." Jimin ushered softly.

"Come here my little mochi~!" "Oof!" Taehyung pulled Jimin into a hug to which Jimin stumbled forward, but nevertheless returned back.

They stayed in the silence of the night, cherishing the body warmth radiating off one another, before eventually pulling apart.

They stayed in each other's hand, walking towards Taehyung's home with the cool breeze hitting their face.

"Oh right, I forgot! ChimChim?"

"Yeah?"

"I recently brought a bunny home, so I hope you're not allergic or anything."

"It's no problem! I love animals! Do you have any pictures of it?!"

"Sorry I don't, but it's the cutest little thing! It's so calm and well behaved and friendly, too! Sometimes I feel like he understands what I'm saying! I think he got attached to me already."

"Bet it can't wait to see you then."

"Yep," Taehyung said with a pop to the 'p'.

Silence fell upon the two as they continued walking. This was Jimin's first sleepover with a friend and Taehyung wanted to make it as enjoyable as possible.

Jimin was shy and tended to lock himself away from other people. He was happy that he was able to become genuine friends with Jimin because of their similarities.

Jimin was an orphan and grew up at the orphanage, while Taehyung's parents died at a young age. They understand each other. They knew what it was like to be left alone in this cruel world, but were lucky enough to have someone to save them.

They will both never see their parents, never be adorned with their parental love, and never have someone that would be proud of them as their true son at birth. They both accepted that but sometimes evil thoughts get the best of them. With understanding came an unbreakable friendship between the two.

All those nights crying alone were resolved with a phone call, all those worries were spoken, and all of the deepest and darkest secrets have been shed light upon.

Jimin was still a little shy around Tae (and he knew that the boy hadn't truly opened up to him), but tonight, he was hoping to have Jimin accept him completely and fully into his life forever.

He knew that between him and Jimin, they shared their fair share of secrets, but he could tell that Jimin tried his best to hold back.

Tae didn't like that. He wanted to see the raw and beautiful Jimin. He wanted to know Jimin like he knew himself, and vise-versa. He was hopeful that today was the day that it was all going to happen.
