I can't believe I did that. I opened up to him. What the hell was I thinking? Trusting a boy I met days ago. Trusting a boy I only saw for the first time days ago. But I feel safe. Like he won't hurt me. Like I can sleep a nightmare-free sleep for the first time in years.
I wake up in a bed I'm not used to. His bed. I check the time and realize that we're almost late for school. I shoot Lexi a text saying I don't need a ride to school and put my phone down. I turn over and realize Dom is still passed out next to me. I try to wake him by just whispering but it doesn't work. I talk a little louder and still nothing. I poke his cheek and he stirs but doesn't get up. I let out a defeated sigh and try to stand up. Hint word:try. I now feel the arms that were wrapped around me tighten and pull me back.
"Woahh. I was not expecting that!" I say quietly. I hear a little chuckle behind me. "Ha! I knew you were awake!" He opens one eye and looks at me tiredly. "Cmon we have to get up for school." He grumbles and his grip on me tightens even more.
I let out a grunt as my back hits his chest and he laughs. The vibrations of his laugh coursing through my body. "Do we have to go to school today?" I let out a laugh and just nod my head.
"Yes! Now get up." I order him.
"What's the point if we're already late?" He asks.
"You're always late. What difference does it make?" I laugh to myself, but he obviously hears.
"Hey! It's not my fault mornings are the worst thing ever to exist." He pouts, a very cute pout at that. "But fine! I guess we can go to school this time." I laugh a little and get up.
"Oh crap... what am I going to wear? I can't wear what I wore yesterday." I mumble, mostly to myself.
"I might have some of my sisters old clothes. Or you can wear mine." He says with a wink, " you look pretty good." He drags out the word "good" and I laugh at his antics. But truth be told, I like his clothes a lot.
"I don't feel like changing so I'll just wear your clothes today. But can we get some of my things from my house after school?" I sigh. "If you're going to kidnap me, you're gonna need to keep me healthy."
He couldn't hold back his laugh as he takes off his shirt and puts on a plain black shirt, then grabbing slightly ripped jeans and pulling them on. "You're not going to that house, we'll go shopping after school though. And you can just do something to distract your dad from finding out where you are while I figure out the legal things."
I smile at his attempts to make me happy but as he walks toward the front door motions me to follow, my smile falters. "There no point in trying to get him arrested." I mumble.
"Why is that?" He asks suspiciously.
"He's got people on the inside, I know he does."
"I'll let you in on a little secret, Love," he pauses for a while as we both get in the car. He starts up the car then turns to me. "I have people on the inside, too." I look at him, my mouth slightly agape as he starts the drive to school. Once we arrive he walks me to my class, since we have first period together.
"Look who finally joined us!" He says glaring at Dominic, "and why were you late Felicity?"
Before I could answer, I hear a certain Brit's voice behind me. "Well I was giving her ride to school today, and I had some car trouble on the way. We were stuck for about 20 minutes." How can he lie so flawlessly? It's like he does it for a living. I stifle a laugh and we head to our seats. The teacher just rolls his eyes and continues teaching.
Throughout the day, Dom walks me to every class. Definitely being late to his own, but I already know that doesn't bother him.
We finally get to lunch and I see Dom waiting by my locker. Lexi by my side mumbling some stuff I'm not paying attention too, just thinking about what Dom said this morning. 'I have people on the inside, too.' "Woah, what is the new guy doing at your locker?" Lexi asks, suddenly getting my attention.
"Oh, uh, we're friends." I say quickly. She rolls her eyes at me.
"Oh please, there's no way your just friends with him." She smiles suggestively at me. It's my turn to roll my eyes now.
"Hello Love!" Dominic says, swinging his arm around my shoulder as we finally get to my locker.
"Hey Dom." I say with a smile.
"Just friends." I hear Lexi whisper and laugh beside me. "I'm gonna go, see ya later Lis!" She says louder. As she walks away, Dom laughs and I get the feeling he heard all of what Lexi said.
"How dare you tell her we're just friends! We're roomies now!" He lets out a laugh that could light up an entire room.
"Oh shut up! I don't exactly want to tell people that..." I mumble, I've been doing that a lot lately.
"I know, Love, I'm just messing with you. I figured you would want to keep up your reputation." He lets out another laugh as I let out a relieved smile. He hugs me and we walk to lunch. The rest of the day goes by quickly. My phone blowing up all day, I'm ignoring it though. Just in case it's my dad.
"Hey Felicity!" I hear Dom sing beside me. "Ready to go shopping?" He says excitedly. I nod happily as the bell rings, 6th period is starting and I'm almost done for the day. As soon as the bell rings though, Dom raises his hand and asks to use the restroom. I look at him and he just smiles and walks out of the room.
