There was a basement in the house, I am never allowed to go in it, i know kids have been afraid of them, I don't get why they're afraid. I stood up from my seat, the doorknob felt icy in my palm as I opened the door to the living room. My parents were not there, it was 8:00 PM, I thought to myself 'Some TV wouldn't hurt, eh?', I picked up the remote and turned on the TV, I switched the channel to (Reader's Favorite Channel), I enjoy watching that channel when I have no one to spend time with.
••Time skip••
••10:00 PM••
I check my watch and it's 10:01 PM, I have watched TV for 2 Hours, It's my bedtime, I couldn't find my father anywhere, or my mother, I went up the stairs to go to my room, my sibling's room was empty (If you have a sibling)
I walked up to my room's door, The door's brown paint was flaking, revealing previous coats of crimson and black. I opened the door, it squealed.
Behind, me, the door snapped shut.
The light of the lamp shuddered in the darkness. I went under the covers and closed my eyes.••Dream State••
••11:00 PM••A power cut drops the whole house into darkness, My pulse pounded in my ears, I can hear footsteps outside, I checked my watch, it was 11:03 PM, it's past bedtime, I went to investigate what's happening out of my room.
Fear clenched like a tight first around my chest, Footprints, they looked like as if whoever walked here had black ink all over their shoes, they were massive footprints, The footprints were vaguely human but were large, far too large to belong to one. Their shapes were contorted, twisted almost beyond recognition. I went to follow them but realized that they lead to the basement...
Somehow it was opened 🤨.
The walls are so cold to the touch, stealing the heat from these warm fingers of mine, never caring if my own heart froze. It was pitch black and not a soul had ever seen a person enter or leave, only my father, or I thought so...
As I was walking through the basement, creaking noises being projected from the wooden planks. I felt as if someone, or something, was watching me, waiting to drag me into the shadows. My eyesight blurred, but not because tears were welling up. Everything became fuzzy; then I saw nothing at all. My consciousness was floating through an empty space filled with a thick static. Throughout the inky space my heartbeats pounded loudly, echoing in my ears, alongside fading pleas for help.
Feeling in my body drained away until finally, all was black.
••Real Life••
"Woah!"
I woke up from my dream, I sighed, being relieved that it was only a dream
••12:00 AM••
I just noticed that I left the TV on, my heart began pumping quickly, feeling in it my ears, my neck began to sweat as I lay in the same bed, I heard alarms coming from the TV, with a static in the background...____________________________________
