Chapter Twelve: Shots Fired

ALICE

I was getting ready in Zoe's room along with; Louise, Tanya and Hazel. Apparently this youtuber party was one of the highlights of Playlist Live and not to be missed. It took place the night before we were supposed to be up bright and early to see the fans. I hadn't really bought many dressy items of clothing so my four friends had pulled things from their own suitcases.

Zoe leant me a navy blue lace dress which came just above my knees and the sleeves were long, Tanya got me in a pair of her many black heels, Hazel supplied me with a necklace and a shiny black bow for my hair and lastly Louise supplied me with a cute little black clutch.

Thanks to Zoe my hair was curled and the bow complimented my look, Tanya did my makeup quite natural but with smoky eyes and light red lips. Louise and Hazel were drinking wine straight from the bottle, which had magically appeared. I soon found myself with my very own bottle of red wine which I happily drank from. The four of us posed for tipsy selfies before I remembered that I'd left my phone in my room when we came back from the pool earlier. I excused myself and said that I'd meet the girls there.

In the hallway I bumped into Jack and Louis, the three of us stood in silence as we waited for the lift to open on our floor. I didn't know why but the atmosphere felt a little tense.

"So Alice, are you looking forward to your first Playlist party?"

Louis had been the one to break the silence thankfully. I turned to face the two boys, who like me were dressed up for the occasion.

"I'm excited but a little scared; I don't know many youtubers outside of our British family."

The last part was the truth; the first part however was a lie. I planned on confronting Finn tonight after I'd worked up a little courage; my night wasn't going to end on a jolly note.

"Everyone will love you Alice. YouTube is like one big happy yet dysfunctional family. I'm sure you'll easily make some new friends."

I smiled at Louis, he was a sweetheart. Jack on the other hand stood in silence refusing to make any eye contact with me. He had guilt written all over him, he had his chance to come clean but instead he chose to cover for his lying brother. I understood where he was coming from on protecting your family, but what Finn had done to me was wrong on so many levels.

"Oh look the lift is here at last."

The three of us stepped in and I pressed the button for my floor. Jack and Louis stayed in the lift when I reached my floor. I told them that I'd see them at the party in a bit and they said the exact same words back to me.

When I entered my room I found that my phone was now fully charged. I had a missed called from PJ about ten minutes ago. I quickly dialled his number I knew off by heart and he picked up on the first ring. Since he made me promise to call him whenever I needed someone to talk to he'd pick up on the first ring. Before then he always waited until your call was about to go to voicemail before picking up.

"Hello Miss Sugg, I hope you are having a pleasant evening."

I rolled my eyes; PJ had taken to calling me Miss Sugg whenever we were on the phone. It annoyed the hell out of me which was why he still did it.

"Zoe and the girls dolled me up, I might have drank a whole bottle of wine to myself and I'm soon to confront my soon to be ex boyfriend."

I didn't know how I'd come to drink the whole bottle of wine in my hand, I hadn't had it that long had I? My head was spinning slightly.

"You'll be okay Alice; you're a Sugg which makes you pretty invincible on the internet."

I felt my cheeks flush at PJ's words, this boy always knew what to say at the right time. God I missed him, we'd gotten closer in less than a month then the entire time we knew each other which now felt like many months ago. Okay I might be a little tipsy because it was only a few months ago.
