We sat in the same position, for what must have been hours. Not once did his hand stop rubbing my back.

The sun started to rise, illuminating the town around the little shop. My phone rang from my pocket, disrupting the silence that I had grown accustomed to for the past hours.

I answered it immediately knowing who exactly it was. "Hello?"

"Hey, baby where are you?" My mothers strained voice said. She must have been crying within the past few hours.

"You know where." It was a short and sweet response by it was true, I spend a large amount of my time here.

"I'll be there in a few." She responded and hung up.

"I have to go soon, my mom will be here in a little." I looked at his tired face.

Calum still managed to smile even when he had bags under his eyes. "Okay I'll stay until she comes." His hand dropped from my back.

I already missed the warmth it brought. Then he dropped his head, softly, on my shoulder. I was stiff, not expecting his actions at all. I didn't move though, he comforted me for hours, the least I could do is let him lean on me.

My mother didn't take long to show up in the parking lot. As I started to move Calum lifted his head off of my shoulder. I thanked him for helping me through this morning and threw away the remaining half of my cold, powdered donut.

Calum seemed to panic at me movements, looking around.

"My mom is here to pick me up, I have to go." I said as softly as I could with my rough voice.

"Will I see you again?"

His words stopped me at the door, he actually wanted to see me again? Why? I balled my eyes out for hours when he could have been sleeping. I didn't know what to respond with. Before I walked out the door I responded to his earlier question.

"My favorite color is purple."
