I couldn't believe it I actually passed out the academy and today was my first day on patrol.
A lot had changed in a month, me and Adam did hook up once or twice but that soon stopped when I met Luke and we decided to make things official. But Our flirty banter was there.
"So I've not mentioned yet how good you look in blues" Adam winked as we walked the streets where the carnival was being held.
"I think you have told me about 5 times already Ruz" I laughed "to be honest you don't look so bad yourself"
"Yeah well it's not very often I wear them so it's a nice change" he smiled.
"I've got something to tell you" I mumbled as I wasn't sure how he was going to take the news.
"Has it got something to do with why we stopped making out and hooking up?" He asked raising his eyebrow.
"Yeah" I half laughed "I've met someone and it's looking like it's gonna be pretty serious"
"That's good" he nodded with no emotion showing.
"I just didn't think it was fair if we carried on our arrangement you know?"
"I completely understand, so does this guy have a name?" He asked.
"Yeah it's Luke and he works in a bank" I smiled.
"How fancy" Adam smirked. "So when do I get to meet this Luke?"
"Tonight he is coming round to meet everyone" I nodded "so best behaviour Adam Ruzek"
"I'm always on my best behaviour" he fake gasped
"Yeah and I'm a unicorn" I giggled.

"It's only us" Adam shouted as he walked into my apartment with the rest of the gang.
Placing the wooden spoon down on the side I walked over giving them all a hug.
"So Ruzek said you wanted us to meet someone" Kev asked
"Yeah I do, my new boyfriend so I want you all on best behaviour" I laughed shaking my head.
Soon enough there was a knock at the door, letting Luke in I smiled at him.
"Guys this is Luke my boyfriend" I smiled wrapping my arm around his waist.
He flashed them all a smile but I didn't miss how he tensed up when he saw Adam and Jay. I didn't miss the look that they shot him either. But I brushed it off.
"So how did you two meet?" Adam asked as he grabbed a beer out my fridge.
"Roxi introduced us" I smiled as I served dinner up. "I'm gonna go for a smoke before dinner"
"Babe I thought you said you was quitting?" Luke asked.
"I am, I've cut down" I nodded grabbing my smokes and walking onto my balcony.
"I don't like him" Adam whispered behind me.
"You don't even know him" I laughed.
"I still don't like him" he huffed "something doesn't sit right"
"Just be nice for me please?" I asked.
"Only for you ok" he whispered. "But you know I'm doing a background check on him first thing in the morning"
"Wouldn't put it past you" I smirked "now come on otherwise Luke will think I've ran away with you"
"Wouldn't be a bad thing" he smirked draping his arm over my shoulder as we walked back inside.
"Can you get your hands off my girlfriend" Luke spat.
For the love of god please don't start.
"Sorry man" Adam said holding his hands up.

"Baby I'm gonna take off" Luke said kissing my head.
"I thought you was gonna stay the night?" I asked.
"I was but I got an early morning and I'm not liking the area for my car to be parked outside" he said.
"Ok" I mumbled "see you later"
After 5 minutes Luke had gone.
"Right come on let it all out" I sighed.
"What do you mean?" Kev asked
"I can tell non of you like him"
"He just seems a bit boring for you" Kev shrugged "and a bit stuck up"
"Once you get to know him, he isn't that bad" I said rounding the pots up.
"Just looking out for you sis" he smiled.
"I know but I'm a big girl Kev" I nodded. "But thank you for being on your best behaviour"
After a couple of hours it was just me and Adam in my apartment.
"So be honest with me, when Luke first arrived and saw you he tensed up like he knew you?" I asked flopping on the sofa.
"Ok so he went to the same high school as me, he was a couple years below me and let's just say back then I was a jerk" he said placing his hand on my knee.
"You beat him up didn't you?" I asked raising my eyebrow.
"Yeah but I'm not proud of it, I was a different person back than" he sighed.
"Just don't beat him up again please" I asked softly.
"Promise unless he does anything to hurt you then I cannot guarantee I'm not gonna do anything" he nodded.
