(Lily P.O.V.)
I was reading the book 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' as quietly as I can while slouching on the soft chair near the fireplace, trying my best to ignore James who was apparently yelling and laughing at the same time.
"Couldn't you try summoning them yourself, idiot," I retorted, tired of listening to his arrogant butt rambling the entire morning.
He smiled at me and threw his hand to his hair, grinning. Such an idiot. I thought to myself.
"Couldn't you try summoning them yourself," he scoffed in a cute girlish voice, his forehead cringing.
I had to laugh, couldn't help it, and damn, I hate to admit it but he kinda looks ... charming. No. My subconsciousness tells me. Not again.
My eyes flickered from James and landed on the notice board, "Hey, guys? Anyone going to Hogsmeade tomorrow?" I asked them, intently looking at the date: 22nd December.
"I'm going," said Sirius, who was turning his pillow into a butterfly and changing them back again, apparently bored. Emmeline who was staring at his work quickly nodded and so did the rest of the Marauders, except James - surprisingly.
"I'm staying here in the castle," he said, casting me a mysterious look, "I might have something I wanna do."
I rolled my eyes at him and quickly informed the rest that I'm staying in school tomorrow, in the library, I quickly added after receiving some naughty faces from them.
It was partially true, to be honest. Yes, I wanted to borrow some books, but I wanna spend some time with James, us alone, for a while.
Yes, I kinda find him 'interesting' ever since he stopped jinxing people for the fun of it. And now that he has a huge responsibility on his head - shouldering his Quidditch team, who successfully defeated Ravenclaw and Slytherin in the last matches and the school as the Head Boy. Who'd actually thought that James Potter has drastically changed for the better good?
(James P.O.V.)
It's the morning of the 22nd, the day of the trip to Hogsmeade. Lily and I'll be staying in the castle though. I think it's because she wanna talk to me...I don't know.
Although she declined my every offer this term to take her out, she fancies me, at least that's what I think. I ruffled my hair with my hand, mentally debating whether to tag along with the others to Hogsmeade, but I can't leave Lily all by herself roaming the castle without protection. I fidget at the thought and walked down into the common room and found Lily sitting in her favorite chair near the fire, her head buried in a child's storybook, which, it seems, I'll have to remind her about.
"Evans, you do know that that is a child's storybook, do you?"
"Good morning to you too," she smiled sweetly at me, "And yes, I do know that, but I brought up by muggles, you know, we listened to Cinderella, Snow White -"
"Cindy - who?"
"Nevermind" and with that, she dramatically rolled her eyes looking so sweet in the process.
"Where'd the guys?" I asked, seeing that she was the only one in the common room and bunks of Pads, Moon-Moon, and Wormy empty.
"They just went down to the Great Hall," she said indifferently, knowing that I am a Master of being Late. "Just use your incredible map and you'll find them!" She yelled as I started to dash to the portrait hole.
"Oh yeah. Great idea, Evans,"
She smirked.
I ran into the boys' dormitory and rummaged my trunk, finally pulling out a piece of parchment: The Marauders' Map. Our Map. I easily located the four tiny dots with their names labeled below them moving under the Gryffindor's common room window downstairs.
I ran, opened the window, and shouted with Lily staring wildly at me, "Bring back butterbeer and Zonko's for me and Evans!"I doubt that they'll hear but Remus, having his incredible senses, showed me what I described as a thumbs-up.
Turning back, I saw Lily, still engulfed in her book, once more.
"Nice book, huh?" I sarcastically said.
"Uh-huh"
That's all I get after I told the guys to bring her back butterbeer and Zonkos'!
"What's your plans for today?" I said, trying to form a casual conversation, trying to ignore the thumping in my chest.
"I don't know."
Really? Are you kidding me?
" Wanna go to the library?" I asked, trying not to blow up.
"Yup."
Definitely tripping me off!
But, Lily just straightened her hair, picked up her book, and started walking towards the portrait hole.
a/n James and Lily are finally left alone for a while...What will happen between the duo? Will they fall out, again, or ...?
