Opening my eyes, I am met with a pounding headache when my gaze meets the light pouring through the cave entrance. The sliver of light is blinding, causing me to shut my eyelids tightly.

I wait a few moments more before slowly cracking open my eyes, allowing them to adjust to the brightness. It has to be early morning, but why don't I remember the day passing or my decision to sleep on the cold floor of Lincoln's cave?

Lincoln. I push myself up from my back, slouching over due to the pain running through my body. Glancing around the cave I see him. He had a nasty gash on his forehead, causing me to worry. I crawl over on my hands and knees, not having the strength to stand.

His head wound seems to be the only clearly seen injury, but I have to check to make sure. I lift his furs to check for other wounds to see none. Perfect, that means I only have to fix one thing. Well, besides the cuts along my backside and-

"Ouch," I say to myself as my fingers dip into a bloody mess behind my head, "Where the hell did I get that?" No matter how hard I rack my brain for an answer, I come up blank. It doesn't matter now.

"Linc," I shake Lincoln in hopes he will wake up from his wound-induced slumber. "Lincoln, wake up." I wince at the volume of my own voice. It is all too loud.

I rest my ear just above his nose, one hand on his chest, checking to see if he is still breathing. He is. "What to do, what to do," I mutter to myself, looking for a solution.

A whimper leaves my mouth as I stand, my back flaring up in pain. I limp over to where Lincoln keeps all of his medicine. I search and search for the one, but then I remembering that he hadn't had anything for the pain in my wrists.

I turn to the unconscious form of Lincoln and curse. "You really couldn't have had anything for pain at a time like this?" I growl. Of course, he doesn't respond.

Using most of my strength, I drag Lincoln to one of the bedrolls in the cave. "You definitely got heavier since we were five," I huff out.

Rolling my eyes at his silence I continue, "You know, a normal person would have woken me up immediately after he gushing blood, but no, you just had to bleed all over the place and then pass out," I move towards the cave entrance knowing I now have to find the plant I need for the medicine, "What am I going to do with you? I will be back later."

And with that, I limp out of the cave and into the bright forest around us. I travel for what feels like hours, and probably is due to my pain-stricken body. But it gives me plenty of time to try and remember what happened to lead to me waking up on the floor of the cave.
