Later in the day I am sent to the caves with the women and children. I do not know what is to become of us but I don't hold much hope that we will live to see another sunrise. We are scared. I miss Eomer very much. He checks on me as often as he can since I was found wandering in the fields here almost naked and badly injured several months ago. His kindness saved me and I feel he has protected me from whatever growing sense of evil I feel, still I do not feel safe. He did not have to do this as I am not one of his kin. He is a man and I am an Elleth. I am glad he let me stay, I have nowhere else to go. You see I do not know who I am, not even my own name.
My first memory is waking up outside cold, my clothes are torn. I am bruised and cut. An elf with long golden hair and a crown of berries on his head looks down on me with great concern in his blue eyes. "My child I am so sorry, I have failed to protect you. This was not supposed to happen. I can no longer keep you safe, go now and be well. May you one day find peace." He places me on a horse whispers something in elvish and the horse runs off through the forest.
I wake up sometime later in a bed. How did I get here? I begin to fight. I am scared. Where am I, wait who am I? I don't even know my name. A man enters my room. He appears to be a solider. He says his name is Eomer. "What is your name?"
"I am not sure, I don't remember. Where am I? I do not know if he believes me. He tells me I am at Helm's Deep the fortress of Rohan. None of these names sound familiar. "My men found you and your horse in the plaines. You were badly injured and your clothes were torn. You were unconscious so we brought you here. You have been asleep for over a week. You do not know who you are or where your from?"
I tell him about my memory, he says nothing but I think he may know who the elf with the crown is.
"Thank you for giving me shelter. I will leave."
"No" he says, "you are welcome to stay here as long as you like, but you must not leave Helm's Deep, it is not safe out there. I have to travel often but will come and see that you are well as often as I can. In the meantime if you need anything please ask any of the guards or nurses, they will help you". "Thank you", I say "it is so appreciated, I will not be a bother". The nurses came in and stated that I was starting to heal. He stayed for a few hours and left after. It was several weeks before I saw him again. I settled into a peaceful life here and enjoyed the silence. Still I couldn't help but feel that I was supposed to be somewhere, that people were worried and that the reason I was found injured had a lot to do with this dreadful evil feeling I could not shake.
EOMER'S POV
We found her wandering in the plains. Her clothes were torn and she was badly injured. Her long golden hair was matted with blood and their were many bruises and cuts on her limbs. A large wound on her head which would explained her lack of conscience. Her horse close by watching as we approached her, almost looking as if he would attacked if we harmed her. As I got closer and examined her I realized that she was an elf. She was also the most beautiful creature I had ever seen. Where had she come from we do not have many elves come by here? Who had harmed her? I had so many questions. I picked her up and rode to Helm's Deep. Her horse close behind, I do believe this horse to be one of the Mearas, but I am not entirely sure. Something inside me told me I must protect her. I could not go home to Meduseld, not with Grima there, no he would probably take her back to who ever had done this to her. At Helm's Deep I found the few healers we had there and for days we tend to those wounds and waited for her to wake. After several days she did, I was hoping she would be able to tell me more of what happened but she claimed she had no memories, and I believed her. When she woke up I could not believe her stunning eyes, a strange sort of blue and green much like the colour of the sea, still when I closed my eyes I can see those piercing eyes looking into my soul. I could not stay long as I had duties to see to back home, but I visited as often as I could. I often thought about this mysterious stranger during my absences, I am not sure why but I knew there was more to her and what ever it was she was different.
