Naparolyo na lamang ako ng aking mga mata nang mabasa ang reply ng taong nagpadala ng text message sa akin. Para namang maloloko pa niya ako, eh alam ko na ang mga modus niya.

"Why are you smiling?"

I immediately turned to Xavier who was frowning at me while standing on the doorway of my room. I turned my phone off immediately and put it inside my pocket and shook my head.

"Nothing," I told him. "I just read a meme. That was so funny."

Slowly, the corner of his lips quirked up. I know I really couldn't lie to him, the thing about Xavier, he knows when we are lying or saying the truth. But I just tried so I could get away from him teasing me. Masyadong mapang-asar si Xavier, hindi ko kakayanin lalo pa at sabay kaming pupunta ngayon sa STU. Gugustuhin mo na lamang lamunin ng lupa kaysa asarin ni Xavier, sa totoo lang. Mabuti na nga lang wala si Scarlett, eh. Madalas pa naman akong pagtulungan ng dalawang 'to.

"Suit yourself," he mocked.

"Let's go. We still have a lot of things to do, you know that. Ikaw 'tong Vice President ng Supreme Student Council pero ikaw din 'tong late." Pag-iiba ko sa aming usapan.

"Well, another reason why I didn't run for the presidency," he replied, and I got his point.

"Where's Scarlett?" I asked him instead.

"Girlfriend," he replied shortly.

"That bitch," I mumbled.

"What, envious?" he asked, smirking.

"You're not?" I asked him back.

Xavier scoffed and said, "Ain't need another problem to deal with. I have a handful already."

Napailing na lamang ako sa naging sagot ni Xavier. Another thing about him, he wants to be in control of things, and everything that comes out of his hand, he calls it a problem, including having a girlfriend.

Fortunately, we reached STU without him teasing me to death since he was the one who drove us to school. This week is the last week of school break at siguradong marami pa rin ang mga estudyante na mag-e-enroll ngayon.
