I was running at top speeding. As soon as I heard Madison’s voice, I knew she was in danger. At least shes close by. I ran into the clearing, and a painful sight struck me. I saw Madison and a wolf face to face, the wolf looking at her like she was lunch.

“MADDY!” I scream at the top of my lungs. As soon as she wisks arund to face me, the wolf took a snap at her and got her shoe. It tore a hole right thru and she was exposed. I had to hurry, but I had no weapon.

My eyes wander hurriedly and they land on a large rock. All in one move I sweep the rock into my hands, and position it for the animals head. I bring my arm back, and heave it towards the creature.

I hear a whimper and see it drop to the ground, a trail of blood leaving its ear. I turn to see Maddy right behind me, arms folded across her chest.

“Thanks Luke. Sorry I left you alone, I just-“and she stops. A single tear leaves her and runs down her cheek.

“Why are you crying?” I ask her.

“I left you! When we don’t know where we are!”

“It’s okay, do you know how many times Joey tried to ditch me? It’s okay.” I tell her and rub her back.

We walk away into the thicket, not one more tear escaping from her. Then she asks me if I have met a lady in this world besides her. She described her to me and strangely enough, she described the lady who was in my dream.

“How do you know about her? She was in my dream.” I ask stopping to look at her. She looks back at me with a puzzled face.

“Well, she kinda kidnapped me. She locked me in a dungeon and bound me to a statue.”

“Wow! What else happened?” I asked

“That’s it, that’s all.” She replied not looking at me in the eye.

We walked the rest of the way in silence. It soon began to get dark, and it hit me that if we were in another world, how would we go home. Its gradually getting darker, and who knows what will come out at night.

I then spotted a net hung into a tree. It had fresh game in it, so I examined it a little. It was so complicated I couldn’t think of how to get it down. I wonder who put this up, and what are they. They would have to be very smart though.

“HALT! Stop right there or you will receive a sword in your throat!” an alarming voice said. It was deep and menacing, like someone you wouldn’t want to mess with.

I step in front of Madison and look around. I spot a man behind a tree holding a sword above his head ready to strike. I put my hands up and walked towards him.

“I have nothing! I won’t do anything; I just was examining your traps, for they were done so complicated! I have no weapons.” I said.

“You are human. What shall you be doing here?” he asked lowering his sword. He was probably in his early twenties he looked so young. He walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder.

“I don’t know. I was drawn here from my world. Please don’t hurt me. Or her.” I pointed at Madison. She had her mouth open, her eyes were wide, and her lips were chap.

“I won’t lad, don’t worry. I didn’t scare you to bad, eh?” He said in a much more relaxed voice.

    “N-no. Thank you.” I stuttered

“Come with me, its getting dark, the Gernials will come out soon.” He said putting his sword away.

    “Okay, sure.”

And with that, me, the man, and Madison walked into the thicket following him to his home. We stopped at a large tree. He pushed it aside, and it reavled a hole in the ground. Followed by a rope to go into it.

I shimmied down the rope, only to land on the floor of his home. I helped Maddy get down, and the man himself just jumped.

“Hello! Who might you be?” a kind looking lady asked Maddy. She looked about eighteen or nineteen.

“Im Madison, but you can call me Maddy.” She responded.

“Im April! Nice to meet you!” she responded with kind eyes.

“I’m Liam, and you are?” The man stuck her hand out at me.

    “Luke.” I said shaking it.

He showed me around his house while April sewed Madison’s shoe. It was really cozy actually, with a living room, and a bedroom. He offered me to stay with him, and with no where else to go, I agreed.

“Hey, umm, do you think you can teach me how to fight with swords?” after getting to know Liam.

“Sure, tomorrow.” And he ruffled my hair like a big brother would do to his younger brother. He made me feel safe.  Something I haven't felt in a long time.
