I was about to walk home with Luke when I heard I song. It was soft, so I couldn't make out the words. I looked around to see where the noise came from, but I didn't see anything but Luke and our hideout.
Then I started to get dizzy, and the room started to spin. I shakily dropped to my knees, and held on to Luke for support. He had fallen too, his arm slug around me as if too protect me. He was yelling something incomprehensible. The wind was blowing like a tornado and the spinning got faster.
I suddenly felt like the ground beneath my feet was giving away, vanishing. I started screaming, but I couldn't even hear my own voice. I started to fall, Luke's arm still on my shoulder keeping my glued to him. I couldn't see, I couldn't think, I couldn't hear.
We finally landed on something hard. I looked down. "Snow? It's just snow! Where are we?" I thought to myself. As if Luke had read my mind, he answered, " Sakura. We are in the world of Sakura." He replied to me, with a serious look on his face.
"My grandparents used to tell me about this world in stories." He continued, "I never thought it was real."
"Then since your so calm, why dont I just get this out of my chest huh? WHY THE HECK ARE WE HERE?!" I exclaimed.
Luke just stood there, eyes wide, taken aback by my sudden outburst. You can't really blame me though.
"I don't know, all I know is that we should get back home..."
He trailed trailed off because I started walking towards the woods. I felt like something was calling me there. I just had my mind set on one thing, just getting lost in the woods. I walked farther and saw something in the distance. A paper I'm guessing. I walked towards it and read it out loud.
"STOP! You must turn back now! If you dare to go any farther, you will face terrible things. You must go now! If you dare to go, then so be it, just be expecting a cruel punishment to await you.
Sincerly,
Caspian
Right when I had finished reading the words, and warm hand grabbed my shoulder. I gasped slightly and turned around to find Luke, right behind me.
"Let's go home Maddy, come on. You saw the note, we shouldn't go there. We shouldn't even be here. Something bad is going on and I don't want either of us to be apart of it." he said, with a look of worriness in his eyes.
"What do you mean bad things? Luke look at me! What do you mean by bad things? What is going on?" I asked him. I knew he was hiding something, because I know him too well. He was looking at the snow coverd ground instaead of replying to me.
"Luke look at me and answer, or I'm not going home!" I tried to convince him to look at me but nothing worked. Ok, I am mad now, and he knows it.
"Lucas Scott Jamison, you will answer me now or I will leave into those woods, and don't think I won't, you know I will!" I raise my voice, hands clenched into tight fists. I would leave, but I wont go down without a fight. Only Luke knows this side of me.
When he finally gets words out he says two things that left a papercut in my heart. "I can't." He simply says. To most people, it wouldn't mean a thing. To me, it hurts. Knowing that he is keeping secrets from me HURTS!
I feel tears forming in my eyes, but I won't let him see them. I felt my nails digging into my palms, and my heart punding against my chest.
"Fine! I'll go on without you! It's pretty clear that you dont care!" I yelled at him. And with that, I tuned around, tears getting ready to fall, and strided away, my balls of fists swinging at my sides. Fine then. If he wants to keep secrets from me, I do the same to him.
