Raven’s groans had reached my ears and I watched as she fell to the ground, I brought my hand up and allowed my magic to rip through the air in an attempt to slow her down. It was no use as I watched as starfire flew down to her rescue. The magic of whatever the hell sphere caused ripped through the ground and my energy. I could feel that had forced its way through more than just the earth. It had opened a rift to another dimension, the HellScape Raven so rightfully feared. The team began to congregate around her and I watched from afar. I was beginning to make my way to the team when a hand wrapped itself around my wrist.
Instinctually I grabbed it to get them to release me, but stopped myself short when I saw it was just Barry. Confusion seemed to swim in his eyes that began to pool.
“I thought I killed you.” his voice seemed to break off toward the end.
“I’m harder to kill than that Dad. I know we have to talk but not right now. This isn’t over yet.” my mind wandered back the face the demon wore as he ripped through my chest. My thoughts were interrupted as the ground below me began to shake. The team ran towards us Raven in Starfire's arms as Trigon Ripped his way into this world and the stench of sulfur and death overwhelmed me.
He stood massive. The size of a skyscraper and my heart fell into my ass at the thought of facing him.
“Well, this sucks” Jaime chimed hoping to bring a lighter air to the rather daunting situation in front of us. That humor died as we watched Trigon’s horns grow.
His feet hadn't even touched the earth yet and I could feel the darkness exuding off of him. When they finally did the earth shook and brought me down with it. His energy alone pounding on my skull like nothing I had ever seen before. Clearly I wasn't the only one shocked by his power as I overheard Diana whisper to herself.
The earth shook with every step he took.
“He’ll bring hell on earth.” raven sighed
“How do we stop him?” Cyborg’s determined voice seemed to gravel out.
“There is only one way.” she said, determined this time.
“You’re going to put him back in the crystal.” Damien chimed this time.
“In the unlikely event that I can make it there.”
“Well you’re gonna have to but you're not alone. We can figure this out. We have to.” i finally said annoyed at her pessimism. I mean sure I might be horrified by that monstrous thing but we have no choice but to win. Convincing ourselves we can't will only make this harder.
“Ok, but we have to go to his dimension in order to get the crystal. His power is still bound to it.” she said, finally being useful.
I felt him continue walking to the city. I had to stay here.
“I won't be of help in a land I have no connection with. I would be better off helping them fight on this front. I don't know what would happen to me physically if I tried to use my magic there when it is so connected to the earth and its inhabitants.” my voice rang out. Making eye contact with damien. My heart sped up a little as he looked at me with a nod of his head they were heading off and cyborg would go with them in my place. Almost as if to see we would see each other on the other side.
For once I wished he would be more open about what was going on between us. But now wasn't the time to worry about it. I turned and ran after trigon, the pinching headache he caused intensified as i closed in on him.
I pushed roots through the ground to wrap themselves around his legs as Diana through a boulder at his head he didn't even flinch. Superman flew into his stomach and knocked him down. I settled my feet in the dirt and tried something new, hopefully my mother’s genes would be able to help me as I forced the ground he landed on to swallow him in. He wrestled against me and my magic struggled against him. It felt like the metaphorical rope I was tangling him in was snapping and he was pushing against the rubble. I didn't even notice his hands reaching towards me, before he shot out a burst of energy. I tried to run out of the way, losing my concentration and getting thrown on my ass. He had made it to the city. And began reeking havoc on its inhabitants,
Clarke responded by blasting his laser eyes back at him, stunning trigon as I pulled myself together. I continued trying to help from afar as I let my power leak through me. I imagined it creeping up his legs and wrapping around his neck bringing him down to his knees and sucking the power out of him. His power was repugnant, a sickly red color that made the earth around me buzz as I tried to turn his magic in on himself. Once again he attacked this time picking up a car and hauling it at me. This time though I stood my ground. Allowing the whites of my eyes to spread and my skin to gain it's apparently natural ethereal glow. The car burst into sand as it neared me and he roared at his failure.
Dad held onto the vines I had used earlier and wrapped them around his limbs. As Superman stood in front of me to stop anymore objects flying my way.
Trigon’s energy burst out of him once more as flames took up the area from which his hair would be. And once again he knocked me on my ass. This guy is really pissing me off.
“It’d be great if they could hurry this up on their side.” I huffed in frustration. He didn't even respond, just got up and flew after trigon again. He and the rest of his team were getting smacked around, not that i wasn't too but that's irrelevant. I took a second to collect myself and plan a better attack. My mind flying black to when Diana and I fought in that parking garage, her lasso had burned me, it held and contracted against my magic the more I fought, the more it held.
That was it. I couldn't hold him alone but maybe with the lasso I could.
“DIANA. DIANA. THE LASSO! USE IT!” I shouted hoping that her powers included hearing me. Clearly it didn't as she ignored me until Clarke repeated what I said.
Finally she understood what i was saying and tried to loop the lasso around Trigon who simply held her lasso and flung her around like a rag doll. Flash and Superman finally stepped in with Dad running up his side to punch him and then creating a whirlwind and Clarke knocked Trigon around. Diana flew up and finally got the lasso around his neck, much like I had done to her. And with that I tried again to siphon him, his power drained into the earth around me as I used myself more as a conduit than a siphon this time. It seemed to be working but trigon strained against us.
He broke free and continued toward his rampage, his mind reaching out to raven. Taunting her. I continued to try and hold him in place but I felt the air around us shift. Raven’s magic flooded my senses. I watched as her signature black and purple began to ooze up from the ground and engulf him, until for the first time I understood why she was called raven. Her magic took the form of her namesake and despite trigon’s attempts it wrapped him up and sucked him down into the earth. The adults looked on amazed, as if they doubted my team's ability to win.
The pinching headache that trigon brought with him started to disperse. My adrenaline wore off and so did the godly appearance I had adopted in the battle. My legs ached and my head felt like it would explode but I got up and waited for my team to finally meet me on this side of things. Eager to see Damien.
