How AoS time travel actually works with the MCU

Quick Note that I said I would do this before but never got around to it so Im writing this weeks after the idea at 3 in the morning. So hold on for this roller coaster of a theory I swear I have a point.

So I recently finished watching season 5 of Agents of Shield and I was really confused about how the story actually fits with the main MCU timeline. So I stayed up thinking of every possible way on how time travel could work while still remaining cannon on Bruce Banner's version of time travel. So here's what I got...

Just to remind everyone Bruce Banner's law of time travel is centered about the fact that going into the past and changing things won't change your future the past is fixed, what happened has happened and there is no way to change that. If someone were to do something in the past it would just create another timeline where that action has happened and in no way can affect the major timeline. Now my theory just builds upon Bruce's explanation. Now we know that in Agents of Shield season 5 the team time travels into the future, they see the consequences of actions that haven't been committed yet and are now determined to stop them, after that my wholesome boy who deserves the world, Fitz slept for 74 years and the entire team finds a way to go back to the present where they are now trying to stop the future events from happening.

Now the important thing to remember about this is that they haven't committed the actions yet that caused this future. The past is fixed and changing it would not affect your timeline, but Bruce only knew about traveling to the past, not the future. I believe that because the actions that caused the future to turn out the way that it did haven't been committed yet the action is not fixed because it technically hasn't happened yet and the future is not fixed. So this being said since actions weren't committed yet they are not yet set in stone and still have the potential to be changed and to directly affect the main timeline. This is how they were able to change the future while still staying cannon with the MCU.

This also leads me to another point that is sort of unrelated but is something I noticed that related to time travel but is too short for its own chapter. The only reason that the main timeline was changed is that Fitz wasn't aware of the future where Mack and Polly ( Robins mom) was supposed to die. Fitz being the pure angel that he is, saw lives in danger and an opportunity to help not knowing that they were supposed to die so that's the reason why he was the one who broke the time loop because he was unaware of how the events were gonna play out meaning that the only reason that the events followed the same up until that point was that everyone knew what the outcome was supposed to be knowing what the events that caused it were except Fitz. So knowing what happens sealed the future in a way. But that's why my bean broke the time loop with his really sad death that had me crying for 15 minutes straight because he didn't know about the future.

So I hoped that you enjoyed my theory I'm sorry that I don't post them often. I post when I have an idea and get bored a while later. I've been watching a lot of Marvel tv lately and reading a lot of comics so hopefully more theories are on their way. Stay Strong and Stay Safe <3
