The next day I was stressed out. I was apprehensive because I had no idea as to what Liam had planned. We hadn't spoken again after he sneakily left me that note. Sabrina and I were only scheduled to meet up on Saturday so we had yet to have an opportunity to discuss things. This entire plan was Liam's idea and I didn't know a thing about it besides its purpose.
I could only assume Liam wasn't going to do anything too extreme. Entering the cafeteria with my lunch bag in hand, I halted at the spectacle that welcomed me. Sitting apart at a table at the distant end of the cafeteria was Liam Finnegan. It was a weird display. Customarily, everyone sat together at their distinct tables.
He glanced up and grinned when he located me hovering by the door, hesitant of what to do. Elevating a finger, he beckoned me towards him. Glimpsing to my left, I recognized Jillian perching at her table with crossed arms and uplifted brows. Was this part of the plan? Astrid ceased her actions of sipping her smoothie and granted me a questioning look.
If this was his way of initiating the rebellion then I would have no alternative but to follow through. I wanted to put Jillian in her place so badly. It was outrageous that she segregated us as if we were lab rats. She had no claim to do that and everyone was too chicken to do something about it.
But this was our opportunity to ultimately go against her. Even if it was just me, Liam, and perhaps Sabrina at first, more people would support. Because what teenager wants to be told what to do?With a timid breath, I began walking forward, straight past the cheer squad table and towards Liam. My sneakers squeaked on the floor and I restlessly tugged at the plaid mini skirt I was wearing. Bella's mouth sank open as her and the girls saw me take a seat alongside Liam, setting my lunch bag upon the table.
"Good girl," Liam murmured with a smirk, placing a large hand on my exposed leg and squeezing. He wore a loose black t-shirt and dark jeans, the colour making his brown eyes stand out. Murmurs broke out around us, everyone querying why we weren't sitting at our designated tables.
I recoiled at the fact that people were gawking at us and spoke through gritted teeth, "you never mentioned anything about this."
Liam was so confident in everything he did and said that it sometimes unnerved me. He chuckled darkly, running his tongue over his full lips. "Thought about it this morning." Without moving his hand from my leg, he continued speaking, "this is only the beginning."
"What are you doing?" I jerked in my chair as I heard Maya's hushed voice. She stood with her arms folded over her sweater covered chest. Her ocean-blue eyes narrowed to slits as she eyed a smirking Liam as well as the grip he had on my thigh. She raised her brows at our intimacy.
