"He's so freaking adorable it makes my heart hurt."
I drew the glass of orange juice away from my moistened lips so that they could contort into a smile. Inclining over, I settled the cup on the tiled floor and sank back into the large bathtub, my bikini-clad body disappearing underneath all the foam.
A powerful strawberry-scented fragrance wafted through the air and it encouraged me to decompress, welcoming the warmth of the water lulling my muscles. At the other end of the tub, Sabrina sat with a smirk, boosting her brows at the content grin on my face.
"What?" I inquired tiredly, using my arm to move the foam around, the heavenly smell once again emitting from it. I could only imagine how pleasant my body would smell after this since we chose to throw strawberry fragrance into the water.
Sabrina sat up slightly, her pink bikini top emerging from behind all the bubbles. Her long chestnut tresses were pulled into a chic bun atop her head whereas mine was messily clipped into a heap. "Aren't you going to respond to what I just said?" she challenged.
A snort left me as I proceeded to play with the bubbles. "That's the fifth time you called Nolan adorable in the past ten minutes that we've been in here."
She giggled, the delightful vibration gliding through the air before she slumped back into the water, her toes nudging my knees. "Okay, okay. I can take a hint."
"Good," I tantalised, gathering some bubbles into my hands before blowing it at her, foam splattering everywhere as she giggled. "My brain can only handle so much Nolan."
Sabrina stirred, some water sloshing over the rim of the tub and she blushed. Earlier I'd told her that the bathtub was full enough but she emphasised that our bodies needed to be immersed entirely. "That's ironic."
Sealing my eyes, I inquired, "what is?"
"It's just that Nolan speaks about you a lot," she said yet there was no possessiveness or irritation in her tone. She sounded relieved. Which was weird because customarily girls would get unsettled if the guy they liked had a female best friend. "I'm glad Nolan has someone like you to support him."
I smiled at her, marking the gradual blush appearing on her cheeks. It arose whenever she mentioned my best friend and each time she'd swept it off as the temperature of the water warming up her face. But I knew better. Seeing as that was her reaction when he was merely mentioned, I didn't even want to ask her whether they were dating or not, knowing that she'd pass out from apprehension.
