Sabrina clung to my side like glue as we wrestled our way through the congested hallway, copious students hastening about to get their books into their lockers. It was moderately challenging for us to not be pushed around since both Sabrina and I were the same height - short. She clutched my hand tightly as we squeezed past a group of girls and ended up at my locker.
"He says he wants to take you laser tagging," she hummed with a smile, resuming the conversation she started when she met with me outside my Chemistry class, holding her books near to her chest as I browsed my locker for my lunch bag. I located my gym clothes in there and reminded myself to take it home to be soaked out. "Is that fine?"
I nodded, snatching my lunch bag and placing my backpack in its place, remembering to tuck my phone into the denim shorts ornamenting my lower half. "I've never been laser tagging before," my words were accompanied with a smile. "So it should be fun."
Truth be told, I was very enthusiastic about my blind date. I'd spent the entirety of Sunday pondering on the many things that could happen. We could end up having a lot in common and if it didn't work out - I'd have found another friend. Sabrina still wouldn't tell me who it was though, wanting me to be thoroughly astounded when I saw him.
"But he'll meet you at Shrine's Corner Cafe," Sabrina recommenced, eyes cruising around before they hardened suddenly. Her hands tensed around her books and I frowned in confusion. "Uh-oh."
Shutting my locker, I gazed at her in concern and inquired, "what's wrong?" She started hyperventilating and I secured my lunch bag around my wrists so that my hands were free to settle on Sabrina's quivering shoulders. "Brina? You okay?"
She shook her head and I had an inkling as to who she was staring at. "Jillian. She's headed over here." I might not have known Sabrina for that long, but I'd discerned and had heard from both Liam and Nolan that she was a goody-two-shoes. She did everything to perfection and always followed the rules, so I could understand why she was freaking out.
"I'll handle it," I murmured, turning her around so that she was facing the way to the cafeteria. "You go on and sit at our little table. Jillian won't say a word to you."
Her hazel eyes became overcast with fear before she nodded, softly petting my hand before her heels ticked its way along the ground as she made her way to the cafeteria. I groaned, squirming with my lunch bag as I anticipated Jillian to approach me. I refused to turn around until she made an appearance.
