They didn't know what they truly desired. The one thing that was evident though is the chemistry they shared, despite it lasting only a brief period.
Although they went their separate ways, the door was left open for the union to be rectified.

"Where you goin', nigga? You gettin' food?" My best friend, Cornell, asked over FaceTime.
"Nah. I'm headed to Tampa."
"Again? You was just there."
"Get off my dick, nigga." It was silent for a while on his end. He just stared at me as I drove. Autumn was right about the weather. The rain was falling mad hard, making it hard to see the roads. Florida niggas already act like they can't drive, so the storm just made it even worse.
"You getting some pussy out there?" He asked finally.
"No," I laughed. "I can't just go see my friends?"
"Yeah, aight. I know you, Byrd. You driving an hour in shit weather to hang out? Okay," he scoffed.
"I'm just tired of seeing yo ugly ass every day. I gotta switch it up."
"I know you ain't calling nobody ugly. Busted ass jit."
"Shut the fuck up, Nelly. You'on want me to light ya ass up for real." He laughed loudly through the phone.
"I'm fuckin witcha. I'll hit ya later. Stay up bro."
"Ight." Following the three beeps, my speakers resumed blasting music.
Niggas make threats, can't hear 'em over the laughter Yeah, that's cause I'm headed to the bank, nigga Sinatra lifestyle, I'm just bein frank with ya I mean, where you think she at when she ain't with ya?
I continued to steer with my foot easing on the gas. At the rate I was going, it would be about another hour before I would make it to USF. There had to be an accident or something because it seemed like the highway was backed up since I left campus. I had my music to keep me company, though.
A little over 45 minutes later, I was parked outside of Autumn's building. I was trying to call her to let me up, but she wasn't answering the phone. I didn't want to just walk up to the door, seeing at it was still storming.
