Chapter 28

Leaha P.O.V. 

       I wondered the hospital looking for Kells, I went down to the main part of the hospital thinking he might have went outside to smoke. Once I got outside, I took a walk around the corner to see him standing there looking down at the ground. "Kells" I say walking up to him I see him wipe his eyes as I got near him. "What's wrong? I asked him softly touching his arm softly "Nothing, I'm good" he said to me. "Don't lie to me" I said as he looked down at me "I just can't believe I left, thinking they were going to be okay, my uncle was never a drinker and that's all he seems to do now, my cousin in the hospital, she almost died!" he said I could hear the hurt in his voice. "That's my family, my only family and I FUCKING left!" he yelled pointing at himself. "For what, to write music, to be famous, Man Aunt Emily would be so pissed at me right now" he said throwing down his cigarette. 

     I placed my hand on his arm "Hey look at me" I said as I wait for his blue eyes to meet mine. "You left because you had a job to do, no one and I mean no one knew they were going to get this bad. Your Aunt was never once disappointed in you, not even when you had a child at 18, she didn't care she loved you, she was proud of you, so proud of you, she talked about the day when she was going to own everyone one of your CD's, Colson she would not be mad at you, she would be happy that you continued to do what you loved, and happy that you came home when you heard that there was a problem."  I said to him looking up at him as he looked into my eyes not saying anything. I felt his hands cup my cheeks as he placed his soft lips against mine. I was shocked by this before I pushed him away. "I'm sorry I - uh" I say as he rubbed his hands through his hair. "I'm sorry I probably shouldn't have done that." he said to me. "Oh uhm yeah it wasn't smart" I said softly but I was hurt that he thought that. "Were just best friends, we shouldn't have kissed" he added. "Yeah lets just forget about it" I say looking down. "fine, with me" he said looking at me. "Fine, It never happened" I say with a fake smile trying to hide how hurt I felt about it. 

       "Are you ready to go back inside, your cousin is worried about you" I said to him softly. "Yeah lets go back inside." he said wrapping his arm around my shoulders before we walked back in the hospital. We walked into her room and smiled seeing her picking at the hospital food before she looked at us. "Hey little cuz" Kells said walking over to sit on the bed "Hey, you okay?" she asked him as he looked at her. "I'm great, what about you" he said looking back at her "Wishing I had better food but other than that I'm good" she said with a shrug. "So if I go out and bring you something better to eat, will you eat it?" he asked her giving her this look. "YES! anything is better then hospital food" she said and he laughs. "On it baby cousin," he said getting up and kissing her forehead. "Lee stay here with her" he asked and I nodded. "Want anything specific?" he asked us "French fries" she said happily. He nodded before asking If I want anything, "Just a drink" I say softly and he nodded before leaving. 

Lannie P.O.V.

         I slide over so Lee can sit beside me in bed "I wish we had something better to watch" I say looking at the TV. "I have Netflix on my phone" she said looking at me. "Jane the virgin?" I asked and she smiled happily pulling it up on her phone. "Hey where is Rook at?" she asked me "He took my dad home and was picking up some clothes and some stuff up for me" I respond. "That's sweet of him" she said looking at me "Yeah" I answer but I felt something else was on her mind. "Instead of watching Netflix, do you just want to talk?" I asked her. She smiled and nodded "Are you sure?" she asked me. "Yes" I responded and she cut off her phone "So what's been up" I asked her "Well your cousin kissed me" she said and my eyes went wide. "My cousin, Machine gun Kelly, the one you have a crush on, but is your best friends" I say looking at her. "Yes, but it happened and it didn't happen" she said which really confused me. "What?" I asked with a very confused look. "Well, we decided to forget it happened so it happened but it didn't happen" she spoke up. "Did you want to forget it?" I asked her "honestly no but his my best friend, you know he doesn't like me any other way and that doesn't bother me, I'm fine with being a best friend" she said to me. "Are you sure?" I asked "It's better that then not having him in my life" she told me and I nodded. 

      Me and Lee eventually did began watching Jane the virgin after we finished our talk. Right as the episode finished both of the boys came in. "Hey" they said as they walked in the room shutting the door. Kells walked over handed me my food and a drink before handing lee her drink and a bag. "You didn't have to bring me food Kells" she told him "I know" he said as he smiled at her. "Well thank you" she said to him and he nodded while Rook came over and kissed my forehead "Hey babe" he said to me before siting in the chair beside my bed and Kells sat at the end of the bed. "How is my dad?" I asked Rook "He was past out by the time I got him to your house, I put him on the couch" he said. "Thank you," I say to him as we all start eating happily. "How long are you guys staying?" I asked and Rook looked over to Kells "Until I feel both you and my uncle are good" he told me and I nodded.
