When I See You Again (Tom Nook x Crazy Redd)

Chapter 2: I'm sorry.

Redd and Potato exit the building, Redd showing no resistance to the carrying, Nook puts a hand on his face and breathes slowly in an attempt to calm down,

Isabelle asks Tom Nook, "If it's not rude of me to ask, why are you so angry at him?"

"Ms. Isabelle, with all due respect, I don't wish to talk about it." Nook says pinching the bridge of his nose,

"It'll probably make you feel better..?" They both wait in silence.

Nook sighs and gives in, "You know what? Fine. If it shall make my already horrid day less depressing, why not, to summarize that horrid piece of work stabbed me in the back and kicked me down to rock bottom, and I had to work from the ground up, That darn rapscallion, should have just gave him money and send him on his way."

"What did he do?"

"What do you think? He stole all my money and left me to the dust! I got a loan, started working, making businesses, re-establishing a steady income, barely managing to make a small living, sat down, had a tea then lived in a period of fear of the getting closer to anyone emotionally cause of possibly giving my heart and then them putting it through a blender, set on fire, thrown in a dumpset, then having that dumpster set on fire as well, blown up, then launched to space on a rocket that is on a crash course toward the sun."

He breathes for a moment, sighs, and lays back into his chair, "It could've been nice... you know? He had potential! He was good to me and I was good to him, we could've made a good business team, but... he just threw it all away like it was nothing, am I an idiot? Probably. Do I regret befriending him? Definitely."

"Mmh. Well, if you enjoyed his company back then, maybe you could enjoy it-"

"Isabelle, I know what you are implying, and the answer is a stern, and solid NO, how will I know if he'll just up and do the same thing! I already gave him a second chance, a third, a fourth, fifth, sixth, and even further beyond! But the time when I believed we were actually on good terms, the time I genuinely believed I could trust him, he threw his final chance right out the window!"

"M-maybe if you'd just talk?"

"There's nothing TO talk about. What? A man who screwed me over almost ruining my life with a smile on his face wants to talk?! 20 years too late... wait... why do you wish for us to make up?"

They stare at each other for a few moments, and then Nook remembers something and facepalms in response, "I have to check the Cranny today... And he's outside at this very moment."

"Yeah..."

Potato and Redd wander outside and sit on the bench, Redd looks extremely nervous while Potato just goes ._.,

"Well... never saw Nook that angry before, heh... or... at all..." Potato says, attempting to lighten the mood but only heightening Redd's anxiety, "But! Who knows! Maybe, he'll stop being angry and talk to you again?" Redd remains silent.

Suddenly the sound of the residential services door opening catches their attention and Nook passes through the door, still with a look of displeasure,

"Ah, it's Nook! Redd, you may wanna sit this one out, he still-" he looks left to see that Redd had already went over to Nook, ignoring everything he said,

"Nook, buddy listen-"

"How many times must I tell you, I don't want to talk to you."

"Please, just let me talk to you, just-"

"I'm done with your pointless pleading."

"Look Nook, i'll do anything OK!" He says getting in his way, "Whatever you want, i'll do it! Just, please."
