When I See You Again (Tom Nook x Crazy Redd)

Chapter 10: Oh yeah... it's all comin' together.

"C'mon." Potato says, cupping his hands in front of Redd.

"What are you doing?"

"Imma YEET you over, give ya a head start, least I could do for being a bad wingman, now c'mon!"

Redd hops one foot into his hands and Potato launches him WITH THE MIGHT OF ZUES! Throwing him across two levels of the island. He does a safety roll upon landing and begins running to Nook. Redd climbs the hills at an extremely efficient pace, a pace some may say, 'At the speed of gay'. Upon reaching the top of the highest hill, he sees Nook just... sitting there, gazing at the stars. To Redd this is a mystical sight to behold. He snaps from his brief trance and goes to sit next to him. He takes a bit time to select his next words wisely as to not screw anything up. He decides to reminisce about the times they had before,

"Hey, Nook."

"Mmh?"

"Remember when me met?"

"Yes... I caught you attempting to shoplift one of my wares."

"And when you chased me?"

"I followed you to your home, which was nearby. A shelter built by poorly secured sticks and garbage. That was barely enough for you to survive the elements..."

"When you brought me in?"

"You attempted to steal my wallet, but when I got it back, I started teaching you the way of business so you could earn money on your own."

"When I stole your credit card?"

"I scolded you to just ask, and not steal from me. I got that custom made apron you wanted."

"... when I left..."

"... I saw the teardrop stains on the paper... you were hurting also... but I was too angry to see it."

They both remain silent, Redd thinks again for a moment, and decides to apologize.

"It's stupid really... All this time you have made a constant effort to change. You gave it your all to prove yourself and I shot it all down, searching for every reason to hate you. And... I guess I found a new reason then."

Nook puts a hand on Redd's shoulder, "In reality... you HAVE changed, you became someone words cannot describe how proud I am of... While on the other hand... I remained the same infuriating adult that shall be a nuisance to you without end, aren't I foolish..."

Redd strokes a hand on Nook's face, "That isn't what makes you foolish... that's what makes you perfect."

They stare at each other's eyes, Redd realizes this opportunity. Confession time! He thinks of multiple ways to approach this, but just like earlier with K.K. Slider, his body takes the reigns and jumps the gun, leaning in to kiss Nook. Upon realization of his actions, he waits... waits for a reaction, waits for him to push him away, waits for him to yell at him, waits for him to slap him... he waits for Nook to reject him. After what seemed like time slowing down to a halt, he feels a hand hooking behind his head pulling him in. It's official... Nook loves him back. After a few moments of making out, they realize that oxygen is vital for staying alive, and break the kiss, breathing heavily. Redd felt like those character's in love movies where the guy kisses the girl and fireworks explode in the background.
