V I O L E T

"I'll see you later," I promised Tony as we exited the dining hall, going our separate ways. He gave me one last smile and I headed towards the West Wing while he disappeared in the direction of the East Wing.

I fixed the rose-coloured hairband that was keeping my dark hair pulled out of my face and gripped the two lime notebooks I had in my arms closer to my chest. I quickly made my way up the flights of stairs to arrive at floor five, where my dorm room was. Pulling out the key from my back pocket, I unlocked the door, seeing that my three roommates, Rapunzel, Lottie and Alice, weren't there. I switched on the lights and I carelessly threw the books onto my tiny desk and I pulled a big toiletries bag from under my bed, sliding the massive handle around my wrist. I entered the small bathroom at the back of my dorm and pulled out two fluffy white towels and threw them in. With the other hand, I grabbed my dorm key, turned off the lights, picked up my wash basket that was laying by my bed and locked the door behind me.

I stopped by the showers first, putting the toiletries bag in the stall furthest away from the door. I sighed, pulling the curtain closed to show that it was occupied. I carried my wash basket to the laundry room, which was at the opposite end of the corridor. As I pushed the door open, I saw that another girl was already there, using the washing machine that was furthest from the door. That's the one I use, too.

I closed the door gently behind me and approached one of the machines in the middle of the room, pulling open the door and loading my clothes into it. The other girl stopped for a moment and smiled at me, and I found myself smiling back.

"Hi," I greeted as I closed the washing machine door and started adding the washing powder, "I'm Violet Parr."

"Elsa Arendelle. Nice to meet you, Violet Parr," The platinum blonde told me, extending her hand in my direction. I found it strange but grasped her pale hand anyways, giving it a gentle shake.

"Are you new? I haven't seen you around before," I told her, pressing a few buttons to turn on the washing machine.

"Yeah, I am. God, why does this thing hate me?" She mumbled, clenching and unclenching her fists. I walked over to her and squinted at the settings on the machine, trying to see what she'd done wrong.

"You turn this knob first and then press these buttons," I showed her, hitting a few things slowly so she could see. The washing machine immediately started to hum and the clothes inside started spinning around. Elsa looked at me gratefully.

"Thank you," She told me sincerely, giving me a small smile.

"No problem. It's the least I could do today to make up for the mess I contributed to in magic control," I rambled, grabbing a strand of my black hair and playing with it harshly. Various different emotions flashed through Elsa's big, icy eyes but they stopped and decided to land on curiosity.

"Magic control?"

"It's a compulsory class for students who have powers," I shrugged, my hair falling behind my shoulders. She nodded in understanding and we both grabbed our empty washing baskets, heading out of the laundry room.

"Which dorm is yours?" She asked as we walked through the hall together. I pointed at the only violet – yeah, hilarious – door in the hall.

"529," I said, my basket lightly bumping against hers. "What about you?"

"521," She told me, nodding to the teal door we were just in front of. "It was lovely to meet you, Violet."

"You too, Elsa," I smiled, giving her a small nod and making my way towards my dorm to drop off my empty wash basket before heading off to the showers.
