Chapter 6 - You two deserve each other

"I can't travel any more" I whimper. "With the attack from the golem and all the walking, I am drained" I complain.

"Okay we can take a break," Noah said sitting on the ground. I pause to look at him.

"What?" he questioned shrinking his face.

"Aren't you going to prepare a seat for me?"

"Haven't we already been over this? Here's the thing princess, when you're with me, cut it with the Royalty demands because it's quite irritating." He pats the ground with his hand. "Here's your seat right here"

"Never in a million years did I ever think I would have to sit on the dirty ground" I mumble sitting down.

I wake up very late in the night because of the ache the ground causes to my back. I get up and stretch to release some of the pain. I see Ellis and Noah in deep sleep, I decide to wake up Noah.

"What's going on? You okay?" Noah sprung up concerned.

"Yeah I'm fine, just needed someone to talk to" I saw him glance at Ellis with a confused expression.

"You're easier" I smiled softly. I don't know why but ever since we embarked on this journey I had this feeling in my stomach, a feeling I never felt with Ellis. Hopefully, it goes away soon. Noah got up and helped me get up, we walked over to a tree to lean on.

"What's up?"

"Where did you live.. all this time?"

"My parents died pretty young, when I was about 3. I was in an orphanage until I was about 10." He started. "I got tired of it. Ran away and was just living off stolen stuff and found stuff, was basically living on the street"

"Street rat"

"Whatever you wanna call it" he soft chuckle, causing me to crack a smile.

"I just would like to" I bite my lip for a second. "Apologize. For everything. I know it was a little hard for you to come on this journey with me, especially when I almost got you killed."

"It's not that hard" he swiped his thumb slowly across my cheek. I crack a smile. "You better wake up Ellis so we could get going"

"Huh? Oh, right yea" I sprung up to wake Ellis.

We reach a big gothic-like gate, with dark green and purple pigments floating around the gate.

"If we go in there, there's no guarantee we'll be getting out, I never went as far as to go in there" Noah explained to me and Ellis, we nod understanding.

"Alright then, let's go" we move inside the gate, and I can already feel the dark energy infiltrating my body. I watch as Noah move slowly and cautiously in front of me, he's very cute when he's hostile. I take this moment to move a little closer to him, I can feel the anxiety weighing off myself. I turn around to check for Ellis, and he's not there.

"Where did Ellis go?" I whisper to Noah careful not to alert any creeping creatures.

"I don't know, he probably knows what he's doing, we have to keep moving" he responds. I move underneath him to get a grasp of his hand, I can feel all the anxiety leaving my body. He squeezes my hand tight and we keep moving.

"Well what do we have here" Evelyn lowered herself from out of the sky smirking. I can see the amulet on her neck.

"A princess and a what? What are you?"

"Don't worry about what he is, give me back my amulet!" I shout

"If you want it so bad, why don't you just come... take it?" she smirked and flew away.

"That I'll do" I mumbled already on a path towards her, Noah pulled me back when a group of very angry looking creatures approaches up from behind her. I cast a spell gifting Noah with a magic sword.

"Thank you" he grinned inspecting the sword.

"Not the time for inspection, you have any bright ideas?"

"Still thinking" Noah tightens his grip on the sword observing the hideous service-creatures.

"She's getting away" I glare at Evelyn. "Okay here's the plan, you fight these guys and I save myself for Evelyn" I hop forward ignoring Noah's shout in the background.

"Have you not noticed that I am a human!" I hear him shout. I lurch myself onto a tree and climb to the top pushing past the leaves and slimy insects. Once I reach the top I can see a view of everything that's going on. Noah doing an awesome job battling the creatures, Evelyn malevolently hovering away, and Ellis sneaking inside her castle's door.

Ellis sneaking inside her castle's door?

I ninja jump from this tree unto the next until I'm on top of the tree closest to her castle. I see Noah has defeated the majority of the creatures and is almost near the entrance.

I knew he could do it

I take this moment to jump Evelyn but as I was about to land on her I feel myself push back in the air, landing and rolling hard on the ground.

"Silly child, you think I didn't see you leaping around in these trees? Curious George" she chuckled. "Oh darling I really don't understand what you see in her"

Darling?

I watch as Ellis makes his way down the steps next to Evelyn.

"Nothing at all it was all for you Mother" he kissed her on the cheek. He retrieved his wand and casted "REVOLO". I went flying into Noah who just succeeded in obliterating her henchmen.

"We are going to destroy this amulet, retrieve the zuli inside, and make ourselves unstoppable!" Evelyn shouted. "And I want to see you try and stop us" Evelyn cast the wand out of my hand and it went flying. "VENTUS" she cast. Me and Noah got knocked over and started rolling until we landed in a hole.

"Ow" I rub my buttocks from the sudden impact. I watch as metal bars slowly cover the opening of the whole.

"Have fun" Ellis smirked from on top of the hole, "You two deserve each other" I watch as he cast a cloud on top of the hole, which is drizzling a cup of water every second. "By this rate, both of you should be drowned in about, let's say 100 minutes" he smirked, "toodles" he dashed out of our sight.
