Chapter 9 - Please, Noah, I Need You

"We were friends" my Father stared into space. I and Noah both took a bath, they dressed him in the finest clothing available and I don't really like it. I miss him wearing his old clothes. This outfit he has on doesn't seem like him. Anyway, supper was set, we were interrogated and now my parents are retelling their version of 'Life with Evelyn'.

"She liked me for a long time, but I sensed that she was an evil being. I didn't want to be involved with that. Yes, she did introduce me to your mother. That was one of the happiest days of my life" he grinned at my mother.

"Why did you guys stop hanging out with her?" I question.

"Because I told you, sweetheart, she was becoming evil"

"Maybe the neglect because of you guys' newfound friendship was making her evil. I mean come on dad I'd be pretty mad too if my friends whom I brought together counted me out of the equation"

"You are right Kylie, we did kind of abandon her. But it's all in the past now. Believe me, if she would allow us to apologize, we would"

"Oh really?" I hear Evelyn's evil snicker amplified in my ears. The dining table goes flying allow with the silverware, the crystal chandelier starts flowing, then eventually shatters. Scraping everyone with the broken pieces.

"Well hello again" Evelyn cackles. "Did you really think that pathetic frozen spell was going to hold me?" I glare at her but it only widens her hideous but pearly smile.

Ellis comes walking in as on cue and lifts Noah with his magic.

"Ellis stop!"

"The amulet or he becomes antelope food," Evelyn says sternly.

"No!" Noah shouts. "Don't give it to her".

"You sound like someone who doesn't mind being eaten" she smirked.

"Dad" I cry, "What do I do?"

"Evelyn, put him down this is the Royal Family's problem not his"

"If you insist" She winks. "Put the deer street rat down darling. Don't think just because they've put you in royal garments that means you're royalty. You are nothing but a pathetic street rat who was used to locate me. They're only giving you food as a final reward. Then you'll go home to your broken-down box house, sell those garments for food, and still end up stealing food. Examine the road you are walking on darling you're wasting your time with them." Evelyn prattled while Ellis put Noah down."I'll take the Queen then" Evelyn shot her magic towards my mother.

"NO!" I shouted. My mother, being the strong woman she is counteracted and shot her own spell, now both of their magic is fighting each other's own. I took out my wand but it was flung out of my hand by Ellis.

"No no" he smirked. His smirk pounced off of his face when Noah rocked his jaw with a punch. I took the opportunity to get my wand and shoot my magic towards Evelyn. Causing her to fly through the wall.

"That's my girl" I hear my dad say. Evelyn hovers back into the room.

"I was going to spare you, but you've upset me too much" Evelyn glares. She raised her hand spiraling a ball of magic, when it was as big as her head she pushed the ball flying forward.

It all went in slow motion

"K Y L I E !" Noah cried jumping in front of me, the blast hitting him with me feeling 5% of the effect.

"Noah!" I sob running to his side. "No Noah don't leave me. Look at me, Noah. Noah!" I cry into his shoulder.

You're better, he told me, weakness high in his voice

Please, Noah, I need you, I cry. All I got was a peck on the cheek before he laid back down. Body motionless

Not a single pulse felt
