A Ghost in the Rainbow.

The Briefing

Cody jolted up in a cold sweat, being a Ghost he had some pretty heinous things. Some of them he had forgotten about, but a select number of them were still haunting him. He checked his phone, it was 5:43 in the morning. he got out of bed and changed into some workout clothes. He went to the gym to workout.

Whilst doing his normal workout he was listening to some heavy metal, Slipknot was his favorite workout band, for some reason the angry lyrics pumped him up full of energy. He had the feeling that he was being watched, he peered up from he reclinded position and looked around, he met eyes with that Brazilian lady from the day before, she looked at him with eyes full of daggers.

'Wonder what the hell her problem is.' Cody thought "Ah, Guten morgen my friend." Cody looked to where the voice came from, it was the German that Cody lost his money to, Elias Kotz. "Morning." Cody looked at his watch, it was now 7:00. He communicator buzzed in his pocket. he looked at it. "Please report to intelligence at 8:00 AM." Cody finished his workout while chatting with Elias. Cody could've sworn that the German was trying to kill him with the amount of jokes and such he was telling Cody.

After his workout he headed back to his room to shower and get dressed. He put on his some civilian garb and headed to the intelligence center. Upon reaching the door he noticed there was a ID scanner. One of the things he was given during his first meeting with Harry was a ID card, it had his name, CTU, and other details on it. He tapped the scanner with his card and the door beeped and slid open. 

Upon entering the Intel center he was greeted by a German man, he had some tattoos and a face that had probably seen too much. "Ah, just the man i was waiting for, you must be Staff Sergeant Hallum, ja?" The man said. "Yes." Cody said. " I'm Dominic, but everyone calls me Bandit. Follow me." Dominic said. The two walked down a hallway and entered a second room, this room had wall of moniters. AS they entered the room, Cody saw a few other operators and some civilians working at various stations scattered in the room.

"This is the briefing room, this is where we correlate our intel, plan Ops, and oversee our reconnaissance, which you will be helping with, ja?" Cody nodded. "Morning Cody." a voice rang out, Cody turned and saw Meghan standing behind them. "Giving him the tour?" Meghan asked Dominic. "Ja, I wanted to aquint him with the others before he got busy." Dominic said. "Ah, I see, well be careful with Taina, she already doesn't like him." Meghan warned. "Ah, Bolivia, will do." Dominic said.

Megan went back to working on whatever she was doing. Dominic continued the tour, pointing to an empty workspace, next to one that was occupied by a hooded figure. "Nokk, Cody's here." Dominic told the figure. Nokk turned around a gave a slight nod to Cody. It was her version of a greeting, Cody returned it.

Continuing on the tour, the Dom took Cody to another desk, there sat the Brazilian operator that Cody had sparred with, currently reading a book. "Taina, this is our newest addition." Dominic told her. She looked up from her book, rolled her eyes, and went back to reading. "She's always like that, don't worry." Dominic said.

The two finally came to the last operator, an American man that Cody instantly recognized. "Erik?" Cody said. The man looked up from his computer and looked at Cody. "Cody? Holy shit it is you." Erik said, standing up to greet Cody. "You two know each other?" Dominic asked. "It's a long, long story Dom, but yeah, we go back." Erik said. "Yeah you still owe me." Cody said. "I told you, I'll pay you back." Erik said whilst crossing his arms, Cody noticed a tattoo on his arm, it was a map of Afghanistan. "Anyway, I've got to get back to finishing up this mission briefing." Erik said. "We'll leave you to it." Dom said.

After finishing up with Erik, Dominic was about to continue the tour when Cody's communicator went off. "Please report to mission briefing." it said. "Cody, we need to go." Nokk said while passing by. "Guess we'll continue this later." Dominic said as Cody turned to head towards the briefing room.

Cody caught up to Nokk, the two quickly made their way to the briefing room. Once reaching it, they had to swipe their ID cards. After doing so, the door opened and they entered the room. Inside were two operators, Meghan, and Erik. In addition to Harry and a few other Operators Cody had yet met. "Alright, I believe everyone is here, you may begin with the briefing." Harry said

Cody and Nokk quickly grabbed their seat, and Meghan began. "Alright, we have a new mission." on the screen was an image from a video. It showed a man tied onto a chair, it was an execution video. "Cech government was sent this video." Erik said. He played the video "Ať se to týká kohokoli, ať to bude varování, na českou půdu se rozlije více krve." a voice said. 

The man had short brown hair, a straight jaw, it seemed like he had taken quite the beating. Erik continued the breifing. "Facial ID shows that this man is named Felix Šimek, Czech native, doctor, just got back from a humanitarian trip into Syria." "Dr.  Šimek was a respected humanitarian, as well as a respected advocate for world peace, of course this made him a target of the masks." one of the operators said with a strong French Accent

"The Czech government sent us all the intel they had, but a lot of it is either bad, or incomplete." Meghan said. Erik continued "So, we want to send in a small intel team, to find out where the Doctor was taken and why, so then the local authorities can go in and take care of the problem." 

Cody interupted the briefing "If the Government sent us their intel, and everything, even asking us for help, then why do we have to go in undercover?" Erik answered " Because the mission isn't just to find out where the cell is, but also to find out who their mole is in the government, so only the top people of the Czech government know we are going to be sending operators." Erik answered.

"That being said, i believe that this is a fantastic operatunity to test our newest member, as well as strengthen Rainbows relationship with the Czech Republic." Harry said.

"So let me get this straight, we go in, get the intel, get out, right?" Cody asked. "Yeah, thats it, this is strictly an undercover assignment, if you two get caught, there will be alot of red tape to cut through. We wont be sending ya'll in with your equipment either." Meghan said. "Makes sense." Cody said, Nokk remained her quiet self. "Ya'lls cover is that you two are honeymooning, it was the easiest cover for the both of ya'll we could fabricate in the amount f time that we had." Meghan said.

'Oh, Boy' Cody thought while looking at Nokk, "Don't even think about it." Nokk said while smiling slightly. "Think about what 'babe'?" Cody joked, getting a laugh from Nokk. "Hey you two, focus up." Erik said. "Sorry." Cody said. Erik continued.

"You'll will being flying in tomorrow, use the remaining time here to get ready, got it?" Erik said. Nokk and Cody nodded. Erik looked at Harry and asked "Sir, do we have your permission to execute?"

 "Granted." Harry said.

AN: ( So, sorry about the lack of updates and all, but I had finals. I know so far the story has been mostly dialogue and exposition, but I promise it will get interesting soon, it will take some time.) I'm am going to start writing the next chapters this weekend, for now I'm going to try to unwind from attending possibly the most crazy semester I've ever had in my college career.
