I was woken up on the couch by dad.
"Hey I'm about to FaceTime m to Jeffree and he wanted to talk to you, are you up for it?"
"Yeah go ahead." I sat up and I wiped my eyes as I woke up. "Do you have water?"
He grabbed a bottle that was next to him and handed it to me.
"Hey!" Dad said when Jeffree answered the phone.
"Hey, Shane! Is Laney there?" He asked and dad turned the phone to me. "Hi, angel. How are you doing?"
"Hey, Jeffree. I'm doing better." I said and he nodded.
"That's good, I miss you."
"I miss you too." I smiled, cuddling into the blankets.
Dad muted himself as he stood up to go to the beauty room. "Go eat breakfast and then you can come in and hang out."
"Shane?" I heard Jeffree say.
"Sorry I was telling Laney to eat." He explained.
I stood up and went to the kitchen as Ryland came inside.
"Can you make me my tea?" I asked him.
"Yeah," he came and filled up the water. "Are you eating? I'll make it for you."
"No I want to do it, thank you though." I said.
I got the bread out of the bag and put it in the toaster. I pulled out a paper plate and got peanut butter and a knife. When my bread popped back up, I put a little bit of peanut butter on it.
"Thank you," Ryland said the mug next to me and then sat with me at the bar as I took my first bite of food.
"You seem happier." He noted, smiling at me.
"I feel better. I don't know if it's medicine kicking in or dad forcing me to do stuff yesterday but I do feel better." Ryland nodded.
"Do you wanna go on a drive later? We can just drive around the neighborhood."
"Yeah that sounds good." I finished eating and I joined dad in the beauty room. "Can I do it?"
I slid my phone into the hoodie pocket, and sat at the vanity and dad moved to one of the other chairs as they continued to talk about some business thing.
I messed around with some make up, putting random stuff on and making myself look dumb. I turned around to face dad, my eyes now surrounded by bright blue, with a ridiculous amount of highlighter and blush. I turned to face dad and he laughed.
"Go take a shower." He mouthed to me. "And wash your face."
"What?" I heard Jeffree say.
"Look at her." Dad flipped the camera to me and I tried to cover my face. "No let him see."
I moved my hands and smiled. "You're a mess." He laughed at me.
I left to take a shower, and took off my make up. I changed into black leggings and a black and pink Jeffree hoodie.
I looked at the stitches on my arm, the scars seemed to be healing but I had to get them out next week.
I put on pink Vans and went I back downstairs.
"Hey, Ry?" I asked as I came downstairs, "Can we go drive now."
"Yeah." He stood up from the couch, "Did you wanna drive? Don't you still need some more hours."
"I need a couple more but I don't want to drive today."
"Go tell your dad that we're going to go drive." He instructed, going to get his wallet.
"Hey, dad?" I went into the beauty room.
"Yeah?" He looked up at me.
"Me and Ryland are going to go on a drive."
"Have fun." He smiled. "How long will you be?"
"Umm, I don't know." I replied.
I met Ryland outside and got into the passenger seat of his car.
"How are you feeling?" Ryland asked, pulling out of our driveway.
"Okay, I guess. Better but still not where I was before." I explained.
"That makes sense." He answered. "When is your doctors appointment?"
"It's next week. They're taking out stitches and making me do another mental health thing."
"Like an evaluation." Ryland said the word that I was looking for.
"Can you turn on music?" I turned up the volume but there was nothing good on the radio.
"You can, connect your phone." Ryland pressed the Bluetooth button on the car and I opened my Apple Music.
"What do you want to listen to?" I asked Ryland, scrolling through my library.
"Whatever you want to."
I turned on Harry Styles and we just jammed for the rest of the car ride.
We returned home about an hour later, and dad had gotten Postmates so when we got home there was Taco Bell. I got a crunch wrap and a strawberry freeze drink.
"Hey I'm going to sleep." I said to dad and Ryland.
"Are you okay?" Dad asked, giving me a hug and kissing the top of my head.
"Yeah, I just feel like I did a lot today I don't know why."
"Ok," dad said as Ryland gave me a hug. "Good night, I love you."
"Night, love you." Ryland added.
"I love you guys too." I replied.
Then I went upstairs and plugged my phone in. I changed from my leggings and hoodie into blue and black pajama pants and a black sports bra. I played white noise on the Alexa and eventually fell asleep.
