Das Vertrauen[Bleach][Sosuke Aizen X OC]

|Act 3-Scene 2|Too Late

It was quiet. Yes, it was always quiet in Las Noches, but this time something was wrong I could feel it. My head hurt, I sat up holding a hand to my head. I was back in my room, but....the memories of the night slowly floated to the front of my thoughts. That's right Sosuke had drugged me. 

I stood up hastily, almost tripping over the bed covers. I ran out of the room quickly making my way out of the castle. It was a mess, rubble was everywhere. Not far from where I was I noticed two large holes in the sky.  I was next to the closest hole in an instant. The hole opened to a pretty blue sky and the gray of rooftops, it was another dimension.  I took one last look at the remains of Las Noches, my gaze caught on something blueish-green. I recognized those hair clips-Byakuya Kuchiki. He was possibly still alive, and I didn't see any arrancar. Had we already lost?

No that was impossible, I turned back to the hole and jumped straight through it.

I recognized the town as Karakura town, but it was surrounded on all sides by a dry brown mountain range, not to mention it was mostly destroyed. I searched the mess below me, only one goal in mind-find Sosuke. 

In the distance a flash of red light caught my eye. Barely thinking I rushed towards it, the light had come from somewhere inside the mountain range. I heard a shout

"-I despise you!"

It was Sosuke's voice. Moving faster than ever before I practically teleported towards the noise. I found him. Glowing red crosses protruded from his back, his gaze met mine and whatever he was saying died on his lips. His eyes widened in shock "Run." He mouthed the word, or maybe he said it I'm not entirely sure. Something that was already to his neck grew over his face, the white-red material pulsed and transformed into a cross of sorts, cutting of his last words.

He wasn't dead. There was no way he was dead. The only two other people present at that time were Kisuke Urahara and Ichigo Kurosaki, I knew already that they were responsible.

Helpless. It is the best word to describe how I felt. If he had taken me with him I could have helped prevent this. For everything he worked for, to come to such an unsatisfying ending, it was almost irritating.

Despite his instruction I moved towards the cross, not away. I could feel the gaze of Urahara and Ichigo on my back.

"Who are you?" Ichigo asked defensively, but I could hear the exhaustion in his voice.

I gazed at the shape before me, it was something like a cross but with the shape of a star. A cross and a star, "The symbols of a quincy." I said softly, I was calm, a sad-calm. I had no desire to take revenge, no intent to kill Ichigo Kurosaki, who stood behind me completely powerless. It was simply useless, it would accomplish nothing for me to kill these two men-it was too late, we had already lost.

"I see." Kisuke Urahara spoke from behind me "So you're the girl head captain was talking about." 

I ignored him "I want to hate you." I said looking up at the cross "I can't though, and that's my fault I suppose. I know you better than anyone else; Tossen, Gin, Halibel, Barragan, Starrk, even myself-you never considered any of us your allies, you always thought you were alone. You fought alone, because you thought it weak to rely on another. That, Sosuke, is why you lost."  I wondered if he could hear me at all "You know Sosuke," I turned away from the cross, "our paths were always meant to end with each of us alone." I started walking away,  I walked in between Kurosaki Ichigo and Kisuke Urahara. 

"Hey wait a minute!" Ichigo shouted.

I stopped, "Kisuke Urahara," I did not turn around when I spoke "I would not trust the words of the head captain that easily. He is arrogant, he believes that I am among the last of my kind, and even if you tell him that I am not, he will not believe you, because he is much to prideful."

"The old man may have his faults, but he is strong enough to support his pride." Urahara replied. He seemed confident in what he said.

I smiled even though they could not see my face "Then, tell him I said 'thank you', if not for his irresponsibility I would not be alive."
